Have a Heart

Photo by Carolyn Kaster / AP Images

The President and First Lady are in Towson, Maryland today to watch a NCAA basketball game between Towson and Oregon State. The latter team is coached by Craig Robinson, the First Lady's brother.

On the style front, it seems Mrs. O has a new look of the moment: heart sweaters! This is the second time in recent weeks that the First Lady has been spotted wearing the style. The first occasion was in San Diego, here. I can't say for sure, but would guess that this sweater is an orange and pink version of the J.Crew Heart-intarsia sweater, sold-out at J.Crew, but available (sold-out!) at Net-a-Porter here. Black pants and classic Converse sneakers completed the look.

P.S. The sweater is indeed J.Crew, currently in the window of the Rockefeller Center location.

All in a Day's Work

Photos by Pablo Martinez Monsivais / AP Images

The First Lady certainly had a busy Wednesday! This morning Mrs. O spoke to members of the secret service to thank them for their public service. This afternoon, it was on to the White House kitchen garden, where Mrs. O harvested autumn vegetables with students from Bancroft and Tubman elementary schools.

On the style front, Mrs. O addressed secret service members wearing a dot bow blouse, teal sweater and blue trousers. For gardening, Mrs. O changed into a J.Crew Jester sweater and slim black pants.

A Concert for Hope

Last evening, President Obama and the First Lady were joined by Vice President Biden and Dr. Biden for 'A Concert for Hope' held at the Kennedy Center in Washington to mark the tenth anniversary of 9/11. For the concert, Mrs. O wore a Prabal Gurung at J.Crew Exploding bow blouse paired with a slim black pencil skirt (or possibly trousers?). A stack of bangles completed the chic black and white look. Dr. Biden opted for a lace cocktail dress, embellished with a ribbon belt at the waist.

A Dash of Sunshine

Mrs. O continues to take in Johannesburg, South Africa, visiting the Emthonjeni Community Center in Zandspruit Township, as well as the Apartheid Museum this afternoon.

For the recent stops, Mrs. O changed ensembles, wearing a halter vest with coordinating trousers, paired with a printed top and red flats. A yellow Rachel Roy trench coat topped the look.

Update: Per The Huffington Post, the First Lady wore a vest and trousers by J.Crew, available here, and top by ASOS Africa, available here. Mrs. O accessorized with navy and gold metallic Bhati Beads bracelets, available here.

Hugs and Bhati Beads

Image by Butch Dill / AP Images

While the First Family toured the South last week, some may have noticed Mrs. O sporting a new accessory. It appears the the First Lady was wearing a Bhati Beads Silk Planets bracelet from J.Crew.

From the J.Crew website:

Our current obsession: Sanskrit for "to glow," Bhati Beads' handcrafted silk bracelets are individually strung deep in the heart of Wisconsin. Bhati's crafty founder and designer, Margaret Maggard, threads strips of vibrant hand-dyed silk through brass beads to make these must-have, boho-cool accents.

Variations of the bracelets are also available direct from Bhati Beads. Neat!

And for those curious about the photo above -- Mrs. O hugs Diane Bentley, wife of Alabama Governor Robert Bentley. Alabama was hit quite hard by last week's severe weather, prompting the Obamas to visit.
