Mrs. O on The Tonight Show

The First Lady appeared on The Tonight Show last evening, donning a Michael Kors gold ribbed lame crewneck sweater from Resort 2012 and a J.Crew Dazzling-dots pencil skirt in mint green jacquard, first introduced in April 2009, here. (An oldie but a goodie!) On the accessories front: a vintage House of Lavande belt and pale pink pumps. Lovely!

Mrs. O rarely makes a mistake in my book. But I have to say I don't love this combo. Way too much going on. The skirt and the belt are fine. But she looses me on the Kors glitter sweater and the pink shoes. All items fine on their own. But this one just not my favorite. It is rare she has an off day. I guess I am spoiled because all her outfits are usually so stunning.

Call me an Obama apologist, but I just love this photo and this look. She looks great. She just has that bubbly, vivacious, healthy, and normal-sized look. Everything is great here. I can't believe this woman makes J Crew look so normal and great. Have you seen a J Crew catalogue / website lately? Everybody looks anemic. They should just use her as their spokesperson. She looks really great. I think I'm going to write in Michelle over Barack this summer for J Crew president. Love her.

I love everything about this outfit except for the shoes. I guess I'm just not that fashion forward thinking to throw on some pink shoes with those colors.

She was great on the show and how lucky is she to have the President singing to her all the time! Swoon!! ;-)

I love the hair!!!!! I do believe she wears hair pieces for fullness, but SHE WEARS THEM WELL:-) She is my inspiration to get back in the gym!

Michael Kors/J.Crew (high/low): a quintessential American combination.

Pat Dawson, I see what you see. That mane. That smile. The body beautiful.

Such a joy to witness.

I love the combo of colors. I have never been a big fan of outfits with matchy colors, so this look is right up my alley..LOL!

She looks gorgeous, full of love and life. It shows in her clothes, her flowing hair, her amazing figure, her confident stride, her beautiful smile. The emsemble works well. I admire her for the sheer bravery that she dispays in her clothes and co-ordinating her colours. I couldn't imagine mixing up these colours and getting away with it but Michelle does and it looks great.

I love this color, but i would rather wear it with a stocking.
Mrs O doesnt like wearing stocking, but i think it will give her a n elegant touch.

Why post only one photo when there are so many beautiful ones especially when she was sitting down?

not only did she look great but she gave a wonderful interview. I loved when she said The President has a beautiful singing voice and that he sings to her all the time. Awwww.

Pink and green are a classic color combo. I think what is throwing people is the gold sparkle sweater thrown in. I think it's a fun look! Very spring-time looking.

Love this look! I would have never thought of this combination but it works extremely well for her. Her style gets an A plus for this look.

Yes, she does wear hairpieces and wigs

Look at that 1000 watt smile! I'd have one too if I had POTUS singing to me on a regular basis.....heck, on any basis! I just love these two people to bits.
As for the fashion.....A+. It would not have come to me to tie the pink slingback shoes in with the textured turquoise skirt, gold lurex top and such a beautifully ornate belt, yet it works. FLTOTUS has a keen sense of what works for her. I guess it goes back to what she says, "wear what you love". You can tell she loves this because it shows.
Look at that stride. Pure poise and confidence!

@Adear - No she does not wear wigs. Extensions a slight possibility on occassion, but unless one knows for sure, one should not make unproven statements about another, particularly if you don't know them.

I adore this ensemble. It works like magic (that jeweled belt is adorable). Again, sparkle and femininity in casual (casual dress up?) done right for all of us in the 35+ category.

I particularly noticed the sleeves, love their length and fit.
