A Fond Farewell

Dear Readers,

After much thought and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to end the Mrs. O blog. Over the past year, my personal and professional circumstances have changed such that I cannot devote the same time and attention to the blog that I once could. I continue to have the utmost admiration for Mrs. Obama - for her style and so much more.

From an idea sparked by Michelle Obama's presence at the 2008 Democratic National Convention, we grew into a vibrant, diverse community with a common interest. The information sharing and exchange of opinions over the past 5-1/2 years has been fun, inspiring, sometimes a bit controversial - but always in the spirit of good, open dialogue. Thank you all for your support and readership over the years.

Wishing you the very best,

Mrs. T

Thanks for bringing us five years of beautiful photos. I've looked at them daily since late 2008 and enjoyed them tremendously. The well-meant but misguided, impassioned "defenses" of a woman who is more than strong enough to fight her own battles had become tiresome, but even they were not enough to destroy the joy and inspiration of seeing so much style, elegance and beauty. Thank you.

Over the years, this site has been one of the few I've returned with admiration and fondness for promoting respectful discussions of our uniquely all-around beautiful First Lady. Cheers to Mrs. T. for deftly handling spirited and insightful posts in the guise of truly fashion-conscious considerations from our appreciative following.

Thanks for a great time. I hope you find success and happiness in all of your endeavors. I know you will because we have seen what you have done here with "an idea sparked from Mrs. Obama's presence at the 2008 Democratic National Convention." We all would be so lucky to have so much success from a little spark. Take care! Stay blessed!

I have for some time thought something was up as the number of posts dwindled. Your site has been terrific fun and a model for civil discourse and polite disagreement. I wish you all the best in your new life! I hope there's someone out there willing to take this on.

Upon reading this news I let out an audible "OH NOOOOOOOOO!" I can't tell you how much I love this blog. I love to check in and read about our beautiful First Lady and see her fabulous fashion. Mrs. T, you will be so missed!! I wish you the very best in your life and your work. Now blogs just sort of stay here, right? I kind of like SoccerNana's idea....any chance of even a few times a year, doing a little round-up of highlights? I know, we're addicted....but to such a wonderful thing. She is the greatest First Lady we've ever had on so many levels and it was so nice to have a place like this that was so positive when there is so much negativity on the internet. This was a place of joy. Joyful journeys, Mrs. T. Ya'll come back and see us sometime! ;) Thank you for all the JOY!

Dear Mrs. T.,
Your blog will be sorely missed. I have checked in every day since the inception and am a registered member. I have had copies of Mrs. O's outfits made for myself and have forwarded pictures of outfits to my friends for discussion later. I wish you all the best in whatever you choose to do in exchange for all the hours of fashion/style enjoyment you have afforded me. This blog has meant so much. Thank you, thank you and thank you.

Mrs. T., we know we have less than three years as the President and our lovely FLOTUS wrap up their last term, but I was looking forward to the remaining state dinners, Halloweens, Correspondents' Dinners, etc. It won't be the same without your expert and elegant commentary. What a pleasure this blog has been!

Many, many thanks for your dedication. I wish you all the best.

Thank you for this blog site! It was always a relief to check in and see us celebrate our wonderful flotus! There is so much negativity out there, this was an oasis of beauty and delight for me these past few years. Good luck to all the sisters of the Mrs. O blog!

Very sad to hear this! Like many of the other posters I have been checking in on your blog ever week or two now for literally years - I think i discovered it just after the first inauguration - and it's truly been one of those really good guilty pleasure and absolute me time! I've always enjoyed the lovely photos our our fabulous first lady as well as the insightful comments by MrsT. I may have even purchased a jcrew item shown as being worn by the 1st lady on your site.. :) You will be missed! Certainly this blog will preserve all the memories that will be left by the Obama legacy. Well done and thanks for your 5 1/2 years of dedication!!

If you do not already read theobamadiary.com, you'll find that photos of Michelle Obama's every public appearance are always posted there.

So sorry to hear that, Mrs. T, and best of luck in your new endeavors! I used to visit the site and comment on the posts quite often in its heyday, but became somewhat disillusioned and only checked it sporadically when I realized that many of the regulars did not tolerate diversity of opinions. However, you, Mrs. T did a stellar job of trying to keep the blog afloat, and I completely understand the moment that inspired the blog--because I and many of my friends felt the same when we saw Mrs. O at the 2008 Democratic Convention in that lovely brocade Peter Soronen dress. Mrs. O, through her fashion CHOICES, represents "Elegant Feminism" at its best; we appreciate that you took the time to document the more frivolous but equally important side of history though your blog. Thanks again
