Obama Blue
Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 3:56 PM
The First Lady was in Columbus, Ohio yesterday to introduce the President at a campaign rally held at the Ohio State University. For the event, Mrs. O wore a blue dress adorned with a turquoise Erickson Beamon starburst pin.

I love this style dress on Mrs. Obama. And the color is simply beautiful. Does anyone know what Mrs. Obama dress is? I know she is 5'11" but I'm curious of her actual dress size. I'm thinking a 10 or 12 but I could be totally off. Never seen her in person. She looks amazing!

Here's that bubbly, strong black lady, young and pretty in that gorgeous and nonchalant blue!
A very nice first Lady look. I think Mrs. O will choose conservative attire on campaign stops.
We'll see.
I just thought "turquoise" when I saw this, but as usual, you are right, Mrs. T -- it is "Obama blue." The flared shape makes me think of the red Michael Kors Mrs. O wore about a week ago. Maybe this is the 2012 campaign equivalent of the 2008 sheath?
And Mrs. O certainly has gotten mileage of that pin!
I was at the rally...she looked AMAZING. Everyone I heard loved the dress!
The First Lady was in Ohio and Virginia yesterday for the start of the official reelection campaign rallies!
“We will move this Country forward. We will finish what we started. We’re still fired up! We’re still ready to go!”
Obama/Biden 2012!
FLOTUS makes the simplest dress looks like a million bucks.
I was fortunate to be there yesterday at Ohio State. She was stunning in that gorgeous dress, and her speech was a knockout as well. GObama!!!!!
Frst Lady Obama makes that dress!
I love Mrs. Obama in this style dress. Does anyone know what her dress size is? I know she is 5'11" just wondering what her actual size was. She looks amazing!

What happened to my comment?
In this simple but nice blue dress Michelle looks like she is ready to do battle again on behalf of the president...go Michelle go!!!!
This pin will always be rather special to me when it comes to the first lady. I recall getting ready for work one morning and saw a snippet on breakfast tv of Mrs Obama at the DNC, where she made a very touching speech whilst wearing a turquoise dress. I remember thinking, 'what a woman'. And four years later, nothings changed. I still think she is a remarkable woman.
Look at that purposeful, confident stride....she is a phenominal woman!
I have seen her in person and Mrs O is no where near a size 10. She is tall and lean (yes she has curves) so I would guess a 6 (maybe a 8 for some designers who cut small). I am 5'9" and a consistent sz 6 with an occasional 4 and she looks to my size but leaner.
I remember seeing a very similar dress at ASOS; I bought it in black. Although no longer available, it was also offered in red, mink (beige), and teal and had a narrow tan belt. The dress was reminiscent of a dress I loved from a recent season of The Row.
Bonne chance!
Barbara, I read once somewhere a long time ago that she was a size 6.
I have met her twice, and I can tell you she is much thinner than she looks
in pictures....and ten times as beautiful, if you can believe that! :)
Our First Lady looked stunning, matching the blue "forward" signs beautifully. I watched it live and she looked amazing and was so cute dancing to Bruce Springsteen...you could see she just adores her man! The President's speech was spot on. Four more years of fabulous First Lady fashion please!
Thanks Lisa and Dmanram. I was thinking size 8 but then I know the camera adds pounds and different angles can make anyone look a little bigger than they actually are. Anyway, I hope I get to actually see her in person. She always looks great. Thanks ladies. :)
Gorgeous as usual..........we missed this one though...........just as gorgeous!!!!!!

Wow! Thank you, Trinisamba!! That's a really cute dress. I remember seeing a pic of her that day on the Obama diary, but it looked all black. You can actually see the colors and the pattern in this pic. Good find!!
Xavier, my French sucks, but I agree with you about the choice of blue and the launching
@ ari2 - Here is an online translation: The choice of the blue one as clothing color for the launch of the country translates the height of spirit of the First Lady of the United States and this blue one evokes the sky therefore all that is at the [dessu of the brawl] and by consequence way the triumph. Good luck!
@Nyon - Thanks. I have a lot of time on my hands these days.
@ trinisamba, good looking out! That outfit sure has a lot of detail in it. I saw a pic of the event on Huffington Post and it looked like a black top to me. They did not show a full length shot so you never knew what the bottom half looked like.
The fabric of this dress looks similar to the double faced wool dress by Talbots. It seems to have a weight to it that makes it hang well on her body. Our Michelle glows! She looks healthy and fired up.....ready to take on the world in behalf of her man. She's a force to be reckoned with.
Love the color!
Is it possible that this beautiful blue dress is also a Michael Kors? It seems similar in cut to that beautiful red one she wore with the L'Wren Scott sweater. I'm just asking because I would really love to know.
I bought a dress this color in Florida this winter. It will ever after be called Obama blue!
What a beautiful woman; various current sources on the net say she wears dress size 10/12.
This dress is gorgeous....tasteful, well-tailored, wonderfully accessorized, and a beautiful color. Michelle Obama is incredibly intelligent, well-spoken, refined and empathetic. I will never understand why, at times, she wears outfits that wear her...not the other way around, such as the recent TV test pattern dress. Mrs. O. is enough on her own to get our attention. I think it is a big mistake to use clothing to give us a jolt. This country seems to be becoming ever more conservative. Although I don't like the turn the country has taken, I think it would be a mistake for Mrs. O. to be anything but conservative in her attire. I want Mr. Obama to win again in 2012, and negative attention in any way will blur his message.
@Christen
<<<<<<1864 is that way
WHAT ARI2 SAID x 1,000,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mrs. O looked beautiful today. You can see pics here: http://theobamadiary.com/2012/05/10/from-dc-to-seattle/
The dress looks like the one she wore to the ship christening a year ago. Mrs. O and Mrs. B look really cute in their coordinated yellow. I wonder if it was a coincidence or done on purpose. Either way, I likey! Later in the day both went casual and looked just as chic. Great representation for this country NO MATTER WHAT THEY WEAR!!!!!
Saw this rally on C-Span and I really loved this dress on Mrs O. Nice how the color perfectly matched the Obama 'Forward' signs! :o)
It actually fit and laid correctly which helps a great deal. Some of the other dresses she wears just doesn't fit the way it should. This is flattering.
But I must say no way is Mrs O a size 6. You guys are kidding yourselves if you believe that. She has got to be at least a 10 or 12 I presume, but of couse, the designer matters and since we know her clothes are top notch in quality, the size could decrease a bit, esp. if it''s tailor made.
Chauny: I have to agree. We all know that designers cut their sizes very generously. My daughter is a true size 6. She is 5' 91/2" and weighs abot 125#...very slim. I don't think Mrs. O. is a 12, but a 10 or a generous 8? Yes.
Mrs. O looks terrific in this dress. Whatever her dress size, she rocks her clothing.
Regarding size: Mrs. O is one of those ladies, like me, who needs a bit of alteration because her top size is smaller than her hip size. So you can't put one number on her dress size.
Having said that, I'm surprised nobody has pointed out the obvious: the bodice of this dress is TOO TIGHT.
Oops! this is not a joli picture.
If anyone knows who the designer is please post the answer. I've been looking everywhere for the answer. I think it is a beautiful dress. Curious to know who the designer is.
She is looking AMAZING. Everyone I heard loved that kinds of dress.
