Happy Birthday Mrs. O

On her 48th birthday, the First Lady attended a White House event to celebrate the 2011 World Series champions, the St. Louis Cardinals.

On the fashion front: A L'Wren Scott lace cardigan, the famed Alaia belt and an Erickson Beamon pin from the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Hanukkah at the White House

The president and first lady hosted a Hanukkah reception at the White House this evening. For the festive occasion, Mrs. O donned a metallic blue dress (quite appropriate as blue is a traditional color of Hanukkah) adorned with strands of navy layered pearls by Erickson Beamon. Lovely!

Update: Mrs. O wears a Metallic Blue and Black pleated silk lame dress by Rodarte.

The First Lady also hosted a Let's Move event today to announce Darden Restaurants’ commitment to reduce its calorie and sodium footprint, to provide greater choice and variety on its children’s menus, and to make healthy options the default choice whenever possible. The event was held at a Darden Restaurant in Hyattsville, Maryland. On the style front, Mrs. O debuted a new grey suit, adorned with an Erickson Beamon starburst brooch.

The president and first lady started their Sunday with a celebration of Diwali at the Holy Name High School in Mumbai, India. There, Mrs. O, wearing a black and white dress, hot pink cardigan, and an embellished necklace by Erickson Beamon (available here, thanks reader Bibi!), got in on the action, dancing with local children. This is becoming the trip of dance, and it's fabulous!

P.S. Even better in video!

Update (11/27): Hats off to reader pbw, who helped to identify this suit as Nina Ricci, from the Spring 2011 collection, seen here.
