On the sartorial front, Mrs. O wore a white blouse with an embroidered floral skirt and belt at the waist for her GMA appearance. For a taping of the Daily Show, Mrs. O wore a navy sheath dress paired with a statement necklace. Update #1: Mrs. O wears an embroidered linen skirt from Talbots below. Update #2: A photo of Mrs. O at her taping of The View is added below. The First Lady wore a light blue skirt and white lace eyelet blouse paired with a white and gold Alexander McQueen belt.

This look does nothing for her. The entire outfit ( especially the belt) is terrible.

The embroidered skirt is Talbot's. Currently on sale. I tried it on yesterday.

I think the embroidered floral skirt is from Talbots. I would like it more without the belt.

I love the First Lady. Glad the book has been launched. The first outfit I am lovin' the colors, the skirt is beautiful...I hate to nit pic on that belt I know she loves them so....but if the width of the belth was just half its size, I would give it an A-plus. She looks fabulous other wise.

The First Lady's appearances were all stellar. I especially enjoyed Jon Stewart. It's clear she is easy-going and fun. Can't wait to get the book!

The navy sheath with the bold necklace is lovely and classic.
The embroidered skirt and top would look better with a narrow belt in my opinion.
This wide, dark belt has looked great in the past on other outfits but is too overpowering here.

She looks lovely. I think the skirt may be Talbots.

Bought my copy today. A companion piece for Mrs. T's book on Mrs.O.

OK. She brought the belt back. Isn't it McQueen?

Not a fan of the GMA outfit...The skirt looks wrinkled and not quite well fitting, proportionwise. The top is "okay", as are the shoes and necklace. I don't care for the belt, I"m not crazy about the proportion of a thick belt or the color w/ this outfit. Maybe a thinner, white belt would have been better? I find Mrs. O's outfits to be big hits 99% of the time. I think, imho, this falls into the 1%. The necklace on the bottom pic is nice, and her hair looks beautiful. Can't fully see the navy sheath dress, but it looks as though it's nice...

GMA: yuck on the belt...gorgeous skirt but maybe a tad short...

I've been looking at this since last night and I believe my first reaction to the GMA outfit is still correct--the proportions are a little off. If the skirt were longer, the wide belt would work. But the skirt is above the knee, so a narrower belt would better pull the look together. I love the color. And the navy sheath looks elegant.

The blue embroidered Talbot's skirt is 100 percent linen. That fabric wrinkles so easily. I decided against buying it when I looked at the fabric tag.

@Vik linen usually does not travel well as it wrinkles easily. I love the aquamarine outfit but to echo some of the views expressed, the belt is a bit overpowering. Anyway who cares about our humble views, Mrs. O continues to make her own fashion statement.

Just watched Mrs. O on Rachel Ray and it was the best interview yet! So natural, so fun, so informative. She has truly come into her own in the White House. When she talked about Beyonce's song I got choked up thinking of the lyrics, "I was here. I lived. I loved." Michelle Obama has left her mark on the White House and the history of this country....she is definitely here and the significance of that cannot be underestimated. My favorite First Lady of all time.

I agree that the webbed belt detracts. It's dark while the rest of the outfit is light and bouncy. It also adds a weird, almost Gothic element that is out of sync. Love the pumps!

The wide belt is too dark and overpowers the outfit and her! Plus it makes her body look out of proportion and pulls unattractively on her top. Love the skirt though it is wrinkled. Did someone take care of that prior to her appearance. Love the classic elegant look of the navy on Stewart show.

I really find the skirt/belt combo quite unattractive. Also, perhaps a "clunkier" wedge type shoe might work better than the dressier pump (just get rid of the belt!!!)

I agree with Gaylev and Vik...the belt is doing all of the talking. I don't care for the skirt because it is too childlike and too short. The navy outfit from "The Daily Show" looks very appropriate and pretty.

What an unhappy mix and choice ! Big necklace, large belt : both worn together are too much & make her appear a bit wide and shrunk ! Mrs O. should forget belts which break her line, she looks smarter in sheath dresses or in below-the-waist-dresses like the purple one she wore with the "G-8 spouses". The 1950's style is ok too !!! She's a great inspiration anyway...

She is looking like a unique personality in all of them i like it.
