A Most Lovely Hostess
While G8 meetings are being held at Camp David, the First Lady has invited the G8 spouses to the White House for a tour guided by White House Curator Bill Allman, as well as a special lunch prepared by Chef José Andrés using produce from the White House kitchen garden.
Above, Mrs. O stands with Hitomi Noda, wife of Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda, and Valerie Trierweiler, partner of French President Francois Hollande during the White House tour. For the occasion, the First Lady has debuted a purple v-neck frock with cut-out detailing near the hem. An iris pin by Alexis Bittar completes the look.
Tomorrow the group will travel to Chicago, where Mrs. O will host the spouses at the Gary Comer Youth Center on the South Side of Chicago, followed by dinner at the Art Institute of Chicago.
A note to readers: I will be traveling over the next 24 hours, but will do my best to update the blog in a timely fashion. Thank you for your understanding. x Mrs. T

Love the dress. It just reminds me of a Tracey Reese and there is a similar one on her website.

Once again, Mrs.O did not disappoint me. I love her! You go First Lady!
Beautiful!
I SO covet this dress!! It's gorgeous in every detail and Mrs. O looks absolutely stunning it it. Can't wait to find out who the designer is. LOVELY.
Safe travels to you, Mrs. T.
Beautiful silhouette, color and detailing! Love it!
This dress is stunning. I especially love this picture of it where it seems to be in motion! :)
So stunningly beautiful! I just love this gorgeous lady. Safe travels Mrs. T and thanks for all you do. God bless Mrs. O, God bless our First Family and God bless America! Obama 2012!!!!
lovely dress, the colour complements her dark skin tone and as usual she wears the dress very well
Very feminine and appealing...moves with her. Everyome else looks all business. She is a beautiful representitive of the US
I think this dress is one of the prettiest Michelle Obama has EVER worn, and the color of her shoes and that amazing brooch set it off perfectly! She looks positively stunning. I bet the other women were jealous!
Looks like a Jason Wu design. The second picture reminds me of a mary tyler moore move. Just absolutely beautiful and feminine.
This event just tickeled me....Our First Lady looks stunning and so proud to show the ladies around the White House. And as a former resident of France, I love the new French First Lady....she is so beautiful and chic...loving her heels and fabulous purse. She and Mrs. Obama will look great together. They swear them in so fast in France. Two weeks ago, she was campaigning in small towns and here she is being entertained by Michelle Obama. Wild.
The Sunday Washington Post has a lovely article, I think, about this remarkable woman and her place in her husband's reelection campaign.

i love that this gorgeous summery frock makes her legs look so slim and gives an elegant fluid line to her silhoette. it certainly stands out compares to the other leading ladies' more staid, A-line cut officewear.
Where is Mr. Sauer (spouse of Chancellor Angela Merkel)?
Very nice neckline and shape.
I don't know if anyone has posted about this or not but The White House Correspondents Association has updated their page with the 2012 photos. Full shots of the dress are included, but you have to page through many photos to get there.
Love the cut and color of this dress. So perfect for her!
Oh my gosh! I LOVE this dress. I can't wait to find out who the designer is and I hope it isn't too crazy expensive because I'd LOVE to have this dress. So beautiful!
Breathtakingly gorgeous and the pin compliments the dress nicely.
Great dress on Mrs. O but wouldnt exactly wear it for an occasion like this. Bit too dressy for the occasion if you ask me. Valerie Trierweiler is my new girl crush. She is gorgeous in an older woman sort of way and I love her classic, effortless style and her taste in shoes. She dresses for her age and is still very sexy at it. She is also a very confident woman. I dont get a lot of warmth between her and Mrs. O in pictures though.
One word. Fabulous!!!!
This dress reminds me of Azzedine Alaia for some reason. I just love the movement and the color. It has just that right amount of flirtiness in the hemline. As the hostess with the mostest, our Michelle gets an A+.
@Mrs.A take a look at GettyImages.com. There are quite a few pics on there with Valerie and FLOTUS and they seem to be quite comfortable and friendly with one another. She does have her own sense of style and it's been said that she has a wicked shoe collection! I look forward to seeing that.
This Valerie lady seems to know how its done!
Thanks Anagrom for the heads up! The Khan gown was so beautiful. It's my favorite of the year so far.
To Mrs. A regarding warmth with French First Lady...they just met minutes before! Also, the French First Lady doesn't speak English so she was using an interpreter for the whole tour.
I absolutely love this dress and Almablanca said it perfectly about the other ladies in the photo. They all look very nice and are dressed well, but they are mostly in "business" attire and Mrs. O rarely wears "business" attire. She dressed like a lady who is entertaining company and I think that is why she stands out so often from the crowd. I just enjoy her clothing choices.
Lovely image, lovely lady. Me like. Who is the designer?
GORGEOUS!!!
One of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen. I want it!
Mrs. O looks amazing - as usual.
That dress fits her line perfectly ! Smart & gorgeous !
This beatiful dress brings out the elegance of Mrs O.But who is the designer?
I keep checking this page to see if the designer's name has been posted. Mrs. T: Were you able to learn the name of the designer of this beautiful dress? I just love it and it makes me want to look just like Mrs. Obama so I can wear it. I will keep checking until there is a designer's name. It is like coming back to a beautiful painting in an art museum. Yeah! I guess I am absolutely "gaga" over this dress!
No word yet Dr. Cheryl. I promise to keep you posted if I learn anything.
I keep watching this post for any updates on the designer of this amazing dress. Any ideas yet? I am still drooling. ;)
Wow! Purple is her color!
This is a beautiful silhouette, color and detailing! I Love it!
