Garden Party

For the fourth year and counting, the First Lady hosted the annual White House kitchen garden planting today. Girl Scouts and students from around the country joined Mrs. O for what has become a spring ritual. For the event, Mrs. O was casual in cropped black pants, a melon hued tee and black jacket.

If we want to learn, then books have a lot of information to educate us and build us in terms of our character, knowledge, respect. However, just reading books is not enough a profound and deep understanding as well as making use of it is equally important.

TYou know what strikes me the most about this picture? It's the kids! They are just going about their business at hand, not star struck at all. It's just an ordinary day, gardening at The White House with First Lady Michelle Obama. Too cute!

As a Girl Scout leader and lover of Mrs. O this picture brings tears to my eyes. These are two entities that I love so much! The girls are so intent on their work and Mrs. O is "just planting with the kids"! Wonderfu photo .... thanks.

And she is dressed for the occassion...nothing fancy, nothing special....just a lady working in her garden with a few helpers. Norman Rockwell never captured this!

It's a sweater with buttons, not a zip jacket. No big deal, but you might want to correct your entry, Mrs. T.

This just shows how real and practical a person she is . Even the children can relate to her as much as she has demonstrated that she can relate to them. No airs etc. etc. etc. for a first lady. She is just so adorable.!!
