Emerald Jewels

Image by Jonathan Ernst / Reuters

The First Lady was joined by Fionnuala Kenny, wife of Irish Prime Minister Enda O'Kelly, for a St. Patrick's Day celebration at the White House yesterday.

Update: Mrs. O wears a garden multi shrub print stretch cady crewneck sheath dress by Michael Kors. The first lady's earrings are vintage Miriam Haskell from House of Lavande

Another home run ! Both ladies look sensational and the contrasting shades of green work very well. I wonder if Mrs O's dress is Thakoon or Wu ?

So pretty. I love the green pattern.

Both ladies are beautiful in their green, indeed! I think I'm going to have to have a sheath dress in a similar print to Mrs. O's ... fabulous. It appears very simple yet so springy! Love it.

Nice! There are some really lovely closeups on theobamadiary site. Over all she looks FAB!

There isn't any colour that doesn't look good on Mrs. O. She just shines in everything!

The dress is lovely. However, I think her eyebrows are too "drawn up"; they don't look natural at all anymore.

Wow! I absolutely love the shades of green on both ladies. Their accessories are also very beautiful.

Looks sensational! Cant wait to see the designer.

You've got the names mixed up. The Prime Minister of Ireland is Enda Kenny, and his wife is Fionnuala O'Kelly.

Beautiful dress! My money is on Thakoon.

Her smile is the best part of this photo.

The color green use to be a popular color to wear - I couldn't find any green to wear for ST. PATTY:S DAY.

Nice weekend to all.

Can't even see the whole dress .

Now that's a green dress! Both ladies look really nice in their St. Patrick outfits. Once again, our Michelle shows us that a shaeth dress can be a girl's best friend. Her earrings are smashing! I saw a close-up of them on Huffington Post and the details on them are fabulous.
That brooch that Fionnuala Kenny is wearing must be the official St. Patrick's Day brooch. Last year the wife of former Prime Minister of Ireland, Mary Cowen, wore the same pin!

Great print! Also, like Mrs. O's earrings. Any information on the designer?

Yes, that brooch is a replica of a brooch given to St Patrick by his mother before he left Wales to go to Ireland.

I am not a fan of this dress, I think I would like it better if the green was a richer color. Also, I like the trench coat Sasha is wearing in these photos, and I like FLOTUS' purse. I am very interested to see what FLOTUS' stylist has chosen for this South America trip. It will be interesting to see if the new girl is going to play it safe, so she decided to pick conservative outfits, or will she try to be like Ikram, and pick young, colorful, clothing that go with the vibe of the country.

Here is FLOTUS tonight

The top she is wearing is definitely from Marc Jacobs, I have seen that print before.

@Mia Monte. You are right about the Marc by Marc Jacobs sweater. I already own it.

Mrs. T, here are the photos from Mrs. O's and her families departure to South America tonight. They will be away for 5 nights and will be traveling to two countries. I am not a big fan of what Mrs. O is wearing but Malia and Sasha look darling and so grown up.

Just lovely. Multi shade, patterned, colorful but not a "busy" print. Very unique.

Was the WH fountain turned green this year?

President Obama has Irish ancestry...anybody know if Mrs. O does as well?

Love the green color and pattern on the FLOTUS! Her skin always looks so healthy and glowing too.

I really love this dress - the print is such fun (which is surely the whole point of the evening) and the greens are myriad and rich. Still loving that after all this time Mrs O is having such fun with her clothes.
