Nice Day for a Picnic

Image by Yuri Gripas / AP Photos

The president and first lady attended the Congressional Picnic on the South Lawn of the White House today. For the event, Mrs. O reprised her floral Tracy Reese dress, last seen in Mexico, here, paired with beaded bracelets and 'jelly' flats.

Is this a gorgeous couple or what!! One of my favorite dresses on Mrs. O is this blue T. Reese dress. The color and design are so cheerful and vibrant. Looks like Bo is really tugging on the Prez---I think only Mrs. O can handle him. LOL

Nice, very nice. What a couple? I love them so much, South Carolina.

Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 9:07 PM | Unregistered Commenternuvision

Our Michelle has boundless energy. Earlier today she was at a Congressional service event, held at The Kennedy Recreation Center, packaging Healthy Lifestyle kits for D.C. area children. There are pics of her with volunteers as well as children, and she looked energized. Now, fast forward to the Congressional Picnic and she's still going like the Ever Ready Bunny! Me? Well I'd look liked a plucked chicken dragged through boiling water, she on the other hand, looks fresh and renewed. Nice!

Beautiful dress. Absolutely lovely.

This is one of my favorite dresses on her. My president looks great too.

I admire the energy between them it is truly beautiful. I love that dress very light and free perfect for a picnic. I would have loved to have been in attendance. I really wish I knew what she uses on her skin. I love it, I would love to have skin like that.

Nice pictures of the First Couple. I'm just a fan of the First Lady. Bo looks nice too.

Charlene in Detroit. I love reading your comments. Always insightful and funny. When I feel that my "happy" blog has been hijacked by horrible spirits, people like you shine through.

Floating on air in this wonderful print dress. Gorgeous!

A very flattering style. Shows off her gym toned arms - light as air. A floral garden in motion. Love The President's off-white/white shirt, cool and fresh and blends with light tones in the fabric of the dress.

I've always thought that Michelle walks on air, and this photo proves it! Great dress, great couple, great photos. And a really beautiful dress that suits our FLOTUS to a T.

They look so cute together

Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 10:24 PM | Unregistered Commenterjasmine

Both night gowns she wore lately ( sparkling blue and thight silver) were not as becoming to her figure as this lively blue one. Somehow she managed to be pretty inspite of those dresses because she is inquestionably a beauty. I like the way she floats along her husband in the second pic.

The First Darlings are so lovely :>)

@ Charlene in Detroit and McKinley,

I wholeheartedly agree with both of you! Your comments are both insightlful and refreshing, considering all the nonsense that have been trying to pass as worthwhile discourse on this site of late, it makes one yearn for the time when this site was populated mostly by people offering clever, funny, knowleageable and uplifting commentary and observations. So I urge you both (and others) to keep it coming. Hopefully it will help neutralize the sludge that occasionally manages to slip through the censors.

The "First Darlings"? Really? Could we be a tad less fatuous and just comment on the fashion? This outfit looks great for a picnic. Cute, stylish and appropriate. MO looks great, the President looks cool and Bo is in charge! I happen to have a Portuguese Water Dog and Bo is definitely walking the President! It took me two years to teach mine a good "heel!" They are great dogs and Bo is a beauty and clearly demonstrates a "Portie personality."

McKinley's right! Mrs. O is airborne in this picture! Terrific. Love the ensemble. Beautiful shade of blue...gorgeous prints.

Mrs. O., this dress is a keeper! Such a beautiful color, such fabulous fabric, and an inspiring design. Could we please see more Tracy Reese in the near future?

Oh yay! THE blue dress! This truly is my favorite look ever on Mrs. O and I have been dying for her to wear it again. The photo of the President and First Lady bouncing along with Bo makes me glad to be alive.

Hello again,

For those of you who have not already done so, I happily urge you to take a peek at The Obama Photo and Video Diary website (obamadiary.wordpress.com). There are oodles of great photos from all of yesterday's events, and some cool surprises, too.

The dress is lovely - light, flirty and fun! As usual, Michelle pulls it off in aces. Best of all, the FLOTUS shows us that picnic wear doesn't need to be tank tops and ratty shorts! Nice.

@JMH. This is great! Thank you for sharing! I just love this couple, I really do! Bo...is my all time, favorite White House pet. He's gotten a lot larger it seems!

@JMH Splendid. Bo is quite a handful but add lots of fun and relaxation to their busy lives.

The moment I saw this picture I was so pleased because, apparently for many of us, this dress is one of my top all-time favorites. Her stacked bangles are such a statement also, I think this trend will be sweeping the country if not already. Her hairstyle is so perfect for her, it looks better every time I see it.

Me? Well I'd look liked a plucked chicken dragged through boiling water, she on the other hand, looks fresh and renewed. Nice!

Ha ha !!! That was so funny, Charlene. I couldn't agree with you more. Michelle has bounds of energy and I salute her for it. When you are happy, you are energised. This clearly shows that she loves her job. I love the Obama's and the dress is one of my favourites.

@JMH - thank you thank you, thank you! What fun to see these photos.

This dress is beautiful and perfectly suited to the occasion. Deb Mattin, I live in the Tshirt and ratty shorts capital of the world! So it does my heart good to see our FLOTUS in such casual but lovely attire. I think this is the perfect silhouette for her.

Is there anything Michelle cannot do? She is very inspiring and has challeged me to suceed in everything that I do. I just love and adore here. May God bless her and the handsome president .They make wonderful role models for all of us. Lots of love hugs and kisses.....Lest I forget, her dress is pretty , very femine and summery. I liked it with the red accessories she wore in Mexico.

She gets more and more beautiful each time I see her. 4 years is going by too fast.

@ McKinley & Mszonian, thanks so much. Sometimes a little comic relief comes in handy.....now if only I could get an agent and put this show on the road! Hmmm. Have a good day everyone!

Has anyone every seen her in some regular jeans every ???????

Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 4:45 PM | Unregistered Commenterjasmine

Mrs. O looks great! That Bo' has gotten so big. I love the second photo where both Mrs. O's feet are off the ground and the President is running too!

Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 6:11 PM | Registered CommenterStrong Foru

@jasmine I hope Mrs. O gets to wear her jeans and casual wear upstairs in the White House
and also at Camp David. What a relief it would be to be relaxed and not "dressed-up" on
weekends and during family time.
This dress seems to everyone's favorite!

SoccerNana: I too think the First Darlings look so adorable and gorgeous!! They are just so amazing aren't they?!!
Lesser humans would have simply wilted and died under all the contrived, baseless and unmitigated hate attacks, but they continue to shine and work tirelessly on behalf of the American people. They are amazing!!!

Thanks to all who shared about the other site (obamadiary.wordpress.com). Such beautiful pictures and best of all, no hate commentary/attacks allowed!! Love it!!!

@ Leslie,

Yes, really, the First Darlings.

My describing the Obamas as the First Darlings is in no way silly or foolish, as I am not silly nor am I foolish. If anyone is attempting to be smug and behaving foolishly, it is obviously you.

Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 11:18 PM | Registered CommenterSoccerNana

I think she looks beautiful but tired. I don't know how the two of them keep up such a demanding schedule but I appreciate it so much. They are really giving back to our country.

@ SoccerNana -
The First Darlings are so lovely :>).....................That is too cute. Love the endearment!! I wish I had thought of it first.................LOL!!

@ Leslie - What is YOUR problem?

Actually they are the First Darlings of the world. Thay are just too adorable. I love holding hands but I do not do it as much as they do. So adorable.
