Off They Go

Image by Saul Loeb / Getty Images

The Os left for Hawaii today, where they'll spend the Christmas holiday and a 10 day vacation. Headed for Marine One, First Lady Mrs. O looked every bit the chic, jet set traveller she is, wearing a black wool Sonia Rykiel coat over a black top and leggings, tall black suede boots, leather gloves and sunglasses. Might those be the famed Robert Clergerie boots we've heard so much about?

Merry Christmas everyone!

She looks great. Like NY magazine said , this looks like a chic winter outfit that would be worn here in New York. I'm also loving the elbow length leather gloves and those boots sure do look a whole lot like Robert Clergerie's FISSA boots.

Have a wonderfully blessed Christmas Mrs.T and fellow Mrs.Oers!

They sure don't make First Ladies like they used to! Tell me, when was the last time you saw a First Lady in black suede over the knee boots? This is the Hank Aaron of fashion...she hits it out of the park everytime! Our Michelle is so chic and stylish. I just love an all black ensemble and those leather elbow length gloves are just snazzy (as my grandmother would say). This look is a winner! The whole family is so stylish. I hope that they enjoy their vacation.

What a good looking family! Love them! This is how America should be represented-young, fresh and vibrant! I love how he baby girl is styling in her "Mommy and Me" legging and boots ensemble to match the First Lady. Where's Bo? Is left to guard the White House? LOL!

Wow, she does look quite chic. As Charlene said, they don't make First Ladies like they used to. Mrs. O is switching it up and showing it is ok to be cute, sassy, fashionable, smart, and a great mother and wife. She's every woman.

@ Red Lipstick - Bo couldn't go. Hawaii law required Bo, as a Portuguese water dog, to have rabies shots and some sort of waiting period. Very sad.

Good to know that they're playing by the rules and not cutting corners, which I'm sure they probably could have.

Dear future first ladies,

the bar has been set. You will be expected to meet or exceed it.

Poor Bo. How come he never got his rabies shot? Isn't that a requirement here for all dogs? My precious pup has to get one every 3 years. He'll miss his family.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Mrs. T and staff and fellow Mrs.O subscribers.

Can't wait to see what Mrs. O has in store for us next year!

love the boots and the coat, and the girls always look so cute as well. Yes Our Michelle knows how to be chic and classic!

So, so, so chic it is.

Poor Bo. It's not that he hasn't had his rabies shot, but Hawaii has a 120-day quarantine for dogs coming into the state.

Mrs. T, thanks so much for this wonderful website!. I enjoy it every day, sometimes more than once. lol Two of my presents from hubby were the Mrs. O porcelain doll and a 2010 Michelle Obama calendar. The Obamas all look so chic and ready for some time away from D.C. I pray they have a wonderfully blessed vacation and can get some much deserved rest.

Merry Christmas everyone and have a very blessed New Year.

I'm sure 2010 will be another great year for the greatest country in the world.

I love Mini Fasionista and her grey boots. The Obama girls seem to be picking up their Mom's fashion sensibilities.

Wow!! She looks so FLY!! A+ all the way. This is a Vogue magazine, jetsetter type of outfit. This outfit, and all her outfits in general, have set a high bar for the next First Lady.

It's Malia that grabs me in this picture. Wow. What a lovely young girl, graceful, as tall(on her way to being taller) than Mom and Dad!

Mrs. O looks so chic..what other 1st lady would wear tall boots, other than Jackie O. I don't compare them other than saying they both have great style.

Mrs. T, I want to personally 'Thank You' for this site. If there are any other sites around similar to this one, I don't even know of its existence. This is the 'only' site that will do for me, and I am by foremost an internet researcher. To me, your site puts the word 'glamour' in the correct context that it should belong, not overly dramatized...just for us women.

I'm looking forward to more photos of Mrs. Obama as the new year approaches and after it, as well.
