Prabal Gurung Print

The First Lady was in New York on Saturday to kick off the U.S. Open Tennis Championships with Arthur Ashe Kids' Day, which encourages kids to stay active. For the event, Mrs. O wore a Prabal Gurung Acid Yellow Flowering Damiana Peplum Blouse from the designer's Resort 2013 collection, paired with white pants and silver sneakers. Yellow certainly seems to be Mrs. O's color for summer 2013!

The Prabal Gurung top is a pretty summer print, but is too short waisted for Mrs. O's tall figure. Couldn't the designer have made a custom fit blouse for the First Lady? White pants are not a flattering choice for women who are broad-beamed, but they are a crisp complement to the colorful blouse.

Since I can only assume the dress from 5 years ago is at the Smithsonian or on the way, its good to see Mrs O pay tribute the day her husband accepted the nomination for the Presidency.

@SoccerNana, Thanks!!! Love the close ups the video provided. Now we have to find out who designed both. They were very similar.

The poppies are symbolic of those who fought for freedom. So thoughtful, and beautiful, as always.
