Dots on Repeat

The First Lady attended the presentation of the 5,000th "Daily Point of Light" award for volunteer service in the East Room of the White House. For the event, Mrs. O wore a Jason Wu dotted ensemble previously seen in 2010 here and 2012 here, paired with a black patent leather belt and red drop earrings.

Even in a previously worn dress, FLOTUS looks so different by changing hairstyles, or accessories. Well done as usual!

Beautiful--

She really does get it;
On this somber day in America, as she goes about her duties as America's First Lady, she still makes the perfect statement in this simple but beautiful black and white polka dot dress, with the simple pair of red drop earrings for a bit of color--

What an exquisite woman--

What an exquisite First Lady--

Polka dots are timeless and classic - she looks delightful.

Beautiful. I wonder if the dress is blue/white or black/white based on the prior belt colors and the earring colors? I loooove her hair in this picture--such a perfectly cool style for the hot weather we're having. A beautiful First Lady.

A great summer dress but what really makes the look is the way her hair is pulled back to show off the red earrings - a lovely pop of color.

Looking back at the earlier wearing, I think her haircut at that point in time was da Bomb! Love FLOTUS

Nice airy summer dress, and polka dots are always fun --- but it'd look better on Mrs. O is the top was in the light color and the skirt in the dark one.

Very interesting look - with different shades of polka dot background at the top flowing into the mostly white fabric in the skirt. It’s a busy pattern so this hairstyle compliments the entire ensemble.

I'm not a fan of polka dots, but this dress is an exception. I think it was a great choice of dress for this occassion. Very summery, but also very cute /casual look to it. . I agree with others, her hair style completed the look. I'm glad she got rid of the bangs. IMO, they hid her beautiful face.

Did everyone see her filmed appearance on the ESPY Awards Wednesday night, honoring Robin Roberts and looking absolutely glowing and flawless? Beautiful tribute. She used this same hairstyle.

Somehow I missed this the first two times around. Great dress, very flattering. I love polka dots!! Especially on FLOTUS!!

Beautiful choice! Am I the only one who saw a thematic connection between the wonderful dots on this dress and the "points of light" theme of the occasion? Maybe it's just my English-teacher-find-the-deeper-meaning-compulsion working overtime! Even without that, though, I find this dress and outfit right in line with the best of her style: classic and ladylike, but with that unusual twist to the polka-dot pattern to make it fresh and interesting. She continues to represent us so beautifully on so many occasions!

I'm loving the look; however, the glow of the First Lady's b e a u t i f u l skin outshines those gorgeous earring!.

Ruth, you are not the only one!!! She has done this on many occasions in the past. I look forward to finding out who she was wearing on yesterday's trip to Chicago that was featured on Obamadiary.

Today, August 4, 2013 being your husband's birthday, I vote for that
dress to "WOW' him at a celebration to beat all celebrations. Not only is he a great man, great leader, his wisdom shows in the clever, interesting wife he chose to share a lifetime with.
