First Peek: 2013 Governors' Dinner

P022413PS-0546

First Lady Mrs. O is seated next to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie at the 2013 Governors' Dinner in the State Dinning Room of the White House this evening. Fingers crossed we have a chance to see more of this gorgeous gown! Mrs. O is wearing a custom made Naeem Khan smoke grey and silver deco-beaded tulle square neck gown. Earrings from Sutra Silver completed the look.

Update: Thanks to the Oscars, we can admire Mrs. O's gown in all its glory. The first lady announced the Oscar winner for Best Picture - Argo - live from the Diplomatic Room of the White House.

Stunning! Now this is how it’s done. I love the pulled back hair, the flawless makeup, the statement earrings and the gorgeous dress. Naeem Khan never seems to disappoint.

The CAMERA Adores Mrs. O. Such a stunning surprise. Naeem Khan's dresses really outline her well toned figure. Silver sparkles with her glowing complexion. Perfect ensemble for the Oscars. Tres Elegant!!

Holy Moley, what a look! I thought that the Naem Khan dress our beautiful FLOTUS wore to the state dinner for the Indian prime minister was the most beautiful dress I' ve ever seen, but this stunner is a very, very close second. Perfect dress, perfect hair and makeup, on the perfect
Representative of all Americans! I am blown away! God love her and her wonderful family...and the Bidens!

Love the art deco theme of the dress. More beautiful (and appropriate to the FLOTUS) than any I saw on the red carpet.

Seriously... what is up with the bangs. They need trimmed and thinned out.
Hides her pretty face.

The news agency in Iran apparently added some fabric with photoshop.

I though I was getting used to the bangs, but I find them way too heavy here and in the various talk show appearances. But Mrs. O wears this beautiful dress to perfection. It was a fun surprise to see her presenting the Oscar! And I love that the service members were included. Doesn't it looks like they're having a blast?

Absolutely gorgeous dress and overall look for FLOTUS. I am so loving seeing all the posts featuring her recent appearances -- let's hope she maintains this level of visibility for a while. Thank you, Mrs. T!

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. The person that replaces Mrs Obama in 2016 is going to fit into some very large shoes indeed. Everytime, the first lady is photographed doing something great or interesting, I just wanna weep with excitement.

I initially liked Michelle's new hairdo-- and in these shots it looks good -- but as time has gone on, I more often than not just want to pull the hair away from her face. I want to SEE her face! The bangs are just too much, imho. Maybe if they were partially covering her forehead it would be better. I suspect that by the end of the year -- or maybe by summer -- the darn bangs will be gone!

Do any of you think that , perhaps, Mrs. Obama could be the next President?

There is nothing not to love about Mrs Obama, she makes me so proud to be American as she is the essence of all that is good about the US. Beautiful and stylish as always.

first, it's the belts, now it's the bangs. next, the many of you will be tired that MO is breathing. i wonder what the many of your neighbors will say about you and what they are tired of about you?

I love to see her in custom garments. They are always so flattering and let her shine without flaw. I personally like the bangs--they just need a little trim so we can see her eyes and eyebrows better. Not sure what she was doing at the Oscars—support for the arts? She looks good in silver!

Her appearance at the Oscar's was just stunning. She just seems to glow in every photo!

I'm absolutely in love with them bangs!!! Saw my little 19 year old cousin this weekend and she got the "Michelle Obama bangs". Perhaps it's a sista thang, no offense intended, but that's how we cut our bangs. Anything shorter would seem strange. Think Tamron Hall, Rhianna, etc.

Is the hair real, a wig or is it extensions, sure does not look natural.

Look at our Michelle, why don't you!
I saw bits and pieces of The Oscars and was I pleasantly surprised when I saw this segment! She looked absolutely radiant.
Oscar worthy, indeed!
