Landing in South Africa
Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 6:26 PM
The President and First Lady traveled to Pretoria, South Africa on Tuesday to attend the memorial service of former President Nelson Mandela. Departing Air Force One, Mrs. O wore a tiered colorblock and print dress. A cropped black cardigan, kitten heels and an oversize umbrella completed the look.
Update: The First Lady wears a dress by Narciso Rodriguez.

I must say I appreciated the First Ladies decorum during Nelson Mandelas memorial service while our president was acting like a teenager.
Mmm... Not one of my favourites I'm afraid. This dress makes her look larger than she is and the design kind of cuts her in half. I think if the black border at the hem wasn't so deep it would look better. Love the pearls though 😊
Maybe it looks better in person, but the outfit appears dowdy, first impression is an apron over a dress. If warmth was needed, a knee length coat would look better than the mini sweater which further chops up the attire. Oh well, everyone has a miss once in a while.
It's an interesting dress. I feel like there might be pattern on the bottom black panel that we can't see.
This is not her best look. The dress looks as if she's wearing a pinafore, and the shoes should be the same color as her legs, not black. Also, the cardigan look has worn itself out.
A strange dress; certainly not flattering for the camera......
My spectacular First Lady!!! I love, love and adore her more than ever!!! I love, love and adore her in the rain, in sunshine, indoors, outdoors; In Africa, in Ireland, in the U.K, in America!!! I love, love, love her whether it's morning, afternoon or night time; in winter, summer, autumn, spring!!! I love, love, love and adore her smiling, pensive, laughing, serious, surprised!!! I love, love, love and adore her whether she's being strong, sweet, vulnerable, confident; I love, love and adore her in every dress, skirt, shorts, pants, ball gown, t-shirt, coat, kitten heels, flats, sneakers, sandals, boots, sling backs, oxfords, statement drop earrings or simple diamond studs, necklace, belt, wrap, gloves; gardening, hugging, reading, thinking, dancing, teaching, caring; I love, love and adore her as a wife, mother, daughter, First Lady, woman; I love, love and adore this incredibly whole and magnificent woman for her strength, her majesty, her beauty, her grace, her wit, her brilliance, her dignity, her integrity, her joy, her wisdom, her discipline; But above all else, I love, love and adore her for being the most sincere, most honest, most unaffected, most genuine, most consistent, most authentic, most trustworthy, most awesome public figure about today!!! She lives her life fully, unafraid to be herself, to be a woman with all of its God-given facets; to make clear what's most important to her; to love her husband and daughters above all else. She inspires and is the best role model ever!!! She ROCKS and she RULES!!! Rock on great woman, Rock on!!!
Not a flattering look; this one is a fashion miss--no matter how wonderful Mrs O is, she still misses the mark upon occasion.
lovely always...
Another fantastic dress!! She always represents the Nation with such dignity, class and elegance. This looks like Narciso Rodriguez - is it? SPECTACULAR look for such an important event.
Mrs. O's ensemble helps present an honorably somber, and quietly respectful demeanor in a way at this event that no other national representative can to this world leader's legacy.

Eleroy, :)
beautiful dress...
A very unexpected look for this arrival. However, it appears she changed before attending the memorial service. Would love to see this dress up close and personal. Wondering how she avoided a coat; it does appear chilly. Very surprised at the shorts selected and worn to the basketball game in Hawaii.
