This Week in Mrs. O
On Thursday, the President and First Lady hosted Halloween celebrations at the White House, welcoming local trick-or-treaters and children of military families. For the occasion, Mrs. O went for a bold and festive look, pairing orange trousers with an orange and grey colorblock top. The President even catered his ensemble to the holiday, wearing a light orange button down shirt under a black sweater.
On Wednesday, Mrs. O was joined by local school children for the fall harvest of the White House kitchen garden. For her garden work, Mrs. O paired a light blue and navy top with legging jeans in "tarnish green" from AG Adriano Goldschmied.
Earlier on Wednesday, Mrs. O was joined by Sesame Street characters Elmo and Rosita for an event to promote healthy eating, held in the State Dining Room of the White House. For the event, Mrs. O wore a pink and burgundy colorblock dress by Narciso Rodriguez. It seems Mrs. O was all about colorblocking this week!

I so loved the Halloween look! I'm kind of surprised because I don't like orange and I certainly don't like orange on Mrs. O. Yet she looked amazing–not costume-y but oh-so-Halloween appropriate (if there is such a thing)! Also, big points to our President for his hint at Halloween with his orange shirt. And, how awesome to get one of the White House Cookies!
On another note, the girls are really beautiful young women...
I don't care what holiday it is, those orange pants are just a "NO" and the sweater is not flattering at all (at least not in this photo).
Gorgeous and absolutely, thrillingly spot on and magical as usual---
Completely fun, wonderfully bold colors; perfectly and beautifully coordinated and suited for each unique event and target audience---
I absolutely love and adore this quintessential modern 21st century First Lady---
Simply can't get enough of this wonderfully grounded, unapologetically self-assured, incredibly clear, exquisitely fun, focused and comfortable in her own skin, pace-setting First Lady, who absolutely refuses to be trapped in other people's hang-ups -- or versions of who and what she ought to be, do or wear--
An inspiring and glorious role model for girls and women of all ages, who would be fantastically well-served in these wicked times full of cowardly and mean-spirited bullies -- old and young -- by following Mrs Obama's exquisite example of living and being -- in spite of those naysayers, permanently planted on the sidelines of ones life and world, looking to always tear down---
Live you, do you, be you --- wear what you love!
Thank you Mrs Obama for effortlessly living and leading by example -- and reminding us time and again that it is the only way to live ones own truth, and authentic and fulfilling life ---
And always looking so scrumptiously lovely doing it too!
Mrs. O looks great in the orange and grey color-blocked sweater; the sweater looks great with the pants.
Nice and comfortable looking gardening outfit.
It's great to see the children working and learning in the WH garden.
I love the picture with Elmo and Rosita; Elmo even wore a tie for the occasion! Love the color of Mrs. O's dress; wish I could see more of it.
The colors in the Sesame Street picture really "pop":Elmo, Rosita, and ,especially, the blocks of Mrs. O's dress.
Just can't stop smiling! I know they're puppets, but Elmo and Rosita look so happy! :-) And Mrs. O... perfectly attired for every occasion. Such a pleasure to see happy moments in what must be very stressful lives these days.
All I can say is I love the color-blocked dress on Mrs. O. And Rosita's "skin" color adds just the right pop! And if I'm not mistaken, she may be borrowing the First Lady's pearls!
P.S. I'd love to say more, but Audrey, with her fabulous and eloquent self, has said it ALL, with an oh-so royal flush (of commentary)--in spades! *wink!* ;-)
Mrs. O has worn some fun and elegant pieces on previous Halloweens, but the orange pants are my least favorite. I'm laughing at the President's orange button-down. He dresses so conservatively. I'm sure that was MO's doing.
Love the colorblocking! Haven't we seen the dress from the Sesame Street appearance before?
Yay - Mrs. O is back. Like her garden ensemble!
She looks amazing in every photo. And hello, I can see her biceps in the dress. Go Michelle!
I think the most wonderful thing about our First Family, and individual family members is that they seem to care so deeply for each other and for the respect of the office, our country and all citizens. Sure, Mrs. Obama gets away with bright orange pants (for it's Hallowe'en, after all!), and digging up vegetables in the WH Garden, but she is real, and that is what members of REAL families do! I love to see her making time to show how families take time for each other. And, if it involves bright and cheery color, so be it. Love to see her smile and the reaction of her husband to her smile, too.
We can excuse her the orange and black outfit--its Halloween for heaven sakes! The pink dress is a g reat color on her.
That’s a classy ensemble for the event. The most amazing choice and although not a costume per say, the bright Halloween colours really stand out, fun and memorable for the kids. Great structure and texture and I love the design and shape of the pants which falls beautifully on her tall stature. Ofcourse she's glowing and mesmorizing as she hands the treats to the children.
Thank you! Thank you, Audrey! You express your thoughts about lovely, amazing Mrs. Obama so very well. And she lives who she is so extraordinarily beautifully come rain or come shine.
Thanks as always to Mrs. T too for this blog!
Spot on Audrey. As different as the outfits are, Mrs O looks comfortable, polished, relaxed and pretty in every one of them. She confidently owns each look. A very attractive and important quality. Snagging the Sesame Street characters to help promote healthy eating to kids, genius.
