White House Correspondents' Dinner

The President and First Lady are attending the White House Correspondents' Dinner this evening. For the occasion, Mrs. O has chosen a strapless printed gown paired with gold hoop earrings. Gorgeous!

Update: Mrs. O has once again turned to Naeem Khan for a formal event, wearing the designer's strapless paisley print organza ballgown. On the jewelry front, the First Lady wears the "Aurora" earrings by designer Carla Amorim, featuring 18k rose gold with cronaline and orange sapphires, as well as a ring by Sara Weinstock (not seen above, but visible in other photos).

Her hair is laid just right. That dress does her complete and total justice. Her make up is spot on. She is so gorgeous.

Its Khan for sure and she always looks great in his designs. She was beautiful. In the evening
I always prefer the hair up but her hair was really pretty. Is there a full length picture anywhere?

Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 9:57 AM | Unregistered Commentershyril

Once again, as always, this First Lady has laid down the gauntlet for fashion- the hair is KILLER!
What we would all give to have locks like that! She has become even more beautiful as time goes by! She looks totally relaxed, and why not? The gown just complements her already awesome beauty! The mix of colors are wonderful, and it makes your eyes pop wide- the only thing one can really say is - WOW!

She is so pretty. So proud of our First Lady!

Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 10:50 AM | Unregistered CommenterAnne

I always say, it's the details that matter! Notice how the direction of Mrs.O's bangs compliment the direction of the fabric on the bodice of the dress. Both go from left to right, creating nice movement contrasting the texture of her skin and the print of the fabric! She is a designer dream! Love, love, love it.

Yes, gorgeous! Her hair looks incredibly healthy.

Another astounding, gorgeous design by Naeem Khan!! I absolutely LOVE the palette and the earrings are a terrific accent. Mrs. O's hair and makeup are flawless. Wish we could see the shoes. Really stunning, jaw-dropping ensemble!!

The WOW-FACTOR of this look is off the charts! Her hair puts this whole look in stellar category.
Mr. Khan MUST be a happy man indeed!

Love these colors on our FLOTUS! @Mrs. T, do you know anything about those earrings?

Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 7:55 PM | Unregistered Commentera MI Mom

What a beautiful dress. Mrs O has set the bar very high for the way to dress to be chic and beautiful without showing too much. Naeem Khan is truly an innovator and the designer to go to. Mrs O has not gone wrong yet with his designs. I can not wait for the next dress of his she chooses to wear. I personally can not wait for this election to be over so we can get to the next four years.

Oh how I wish I could see this outfit from head to toe! Just when I know my FLOTUS favorites, my list must be adjusted. I'm lovin' it!!!! I wish my har could look as good as hers--simply beautiful!

First Lady Michelle is HOT !!!

Monday, April 30, 2012 at 9:20 PM | Unregistered Commentercrystal

Gorgeous. She wears prints so well, and it's a hard look to pull off without looking fusty, especially in an evening gown. She does it beautifully.
Style.com has a bunch of pictures of guests at the dinner on their site. (Though they also do not have a full length shot of this gown, which is too bad.) The headline asks "who was best dressed at the WHCD?" Well, obviously, it was Michelle Obama. But it's interesting to see some of the other gowns, many of which were beautiful. That said, Gennifer Goodwin is definitely not my choice for Best Dressed #2! She should seriously consider a new stylist.

Monday, April 30, 2012 at 11:36 PM | Registered Commenteroperafanatic

I don't ask for much. Just a full length shot when Mrs. O wears of-the-moment impeccable gowns. I agree with you all about Khan's designs. He is at the top of her looks.

Hey peeps, you can see Mrs. O pics from yesterday at www.theobamadiary.com. Look for the "Rise and Shine" thread. She has on cute multi colored sheath dress.

Thanks for the info on those fabulous hoops, Mrs. T. Does anyone know what "cronaline" is? I didn't pick up any clues from the Carla Amorim website or even Google.

Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 2:28 PM | Unregistered Commentera MI Mom

The dress is nice, but the First Ladies hair looks fabulous!

Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 8:54 PM | Registered CommenterStrong Foru

Absolutely Stunning! No complaints! I just looked at Naeem Khan's Fall 2011RTW and style # 6 looks very similar to Mrs.O's gown for the WHCD. This is probably a good idea of the full view with the exception of the strap over the shoulder.

Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 9:03 PM | Unregistered CommenterS Jackson

I love the hair. Her weave is gorgeous! Very nice!

Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 11:22 PM | Unregistered CommenterRemy

@ Remy

The FLOTUS doesn't wear a weave. Just look at her "Mom on an Errand" (pulled, back tight) ponytails. You can't do that with a weave, but I'm sure you were trying to be complimentary and not disparaging.

GORGEOUS! Mrs. O looks gorgeous, her lovely smile, her awesome feminine curls, her toned arms, she looks great! I love the bold print of the dress (kind of miss the strap, but Mrs. O rocks it in her own way, so if it was removed to maker her feel comfortable and herself in the dress, good on h er!).

Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11:53 AM | Unregistered CommenterBetty

OMG! our Michelle is definately stunning in this picture.....the outfit, the hair makeup and all! wow! ......she seems to be getting more beautiful by the day; and the wonderful thing about her is she is beautiful from the inside as well. lovely ....lovely ......lovely....

Absolutely beautiful! Her gorgeous smile completed her look!

Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 3:36 PM | Unregistered CommenterLulu742

So many awesome comments...until the last one. Remy my dear, that is the hair that grows from Michelle Obama's scalp. No weave.

Her beauty has become even more striking as the years go by. Her face takes on ever more queenly, majestic outlines with age, while she still exudes a magical warmth and sex appeal.
