Wish FLOTUS Happy Birthday

When you become president, one thing that happens overnight is that you and everyone you love get a bunch of new nicknames.
I was already pretty used to this. But "FLOTUS," short for First Lady of the United States, is really something else.
I'm writing because our FLOTUS, Michelle, turns 48 on Tuesday, and I know I'm not her only fan out there.
Will you join me in wishing her a happy birthday?

No problemo. Mrs. T I was really interested to hear your thoughts on the Gayle King interview? There was the 9 min long version that I thought was so good, so insightful and refreshingly candid and then there was the 1min+ snippet that I've seen even on BBC here in the UK and all over the internet where she says people have tried to paint her as an angry black woman/ concerning the Kantor book how can someone else tell her what she's thinking? / the Emmanuels are dear friends. I was a bit...concerned at how the media chopped up the interview and included all those juicy parts out of context. I definitely get the sense that the new book and the various perceptions of her are not necessarily in line with her view of herself and her experience in the White House thus far.

A quick question for the crowd. I've considered changing the blog's Twitter handle for a while now. For those who aren't on twitter, it's @Mrs_O. This was set up by someone else when I first started the blog. I don't think I thought it through sufficiently, as tweets can at times sound like they're coming from Mrs. Obama. I'm particularly sensitive to this now that Mrs. Obama is officially on Twitter. So, I'm considering a change of handle. One option is @Mrs_O_Blog. Just curious if there are any other ideas?

He is so cute isn't he? It kind of sounds like he likes the term FLOTUS?? Can't quite tell. I think it has a nice sound to it....like she "floats" and she is like a lotus flower. Anyway, I will be wishing her a happy birthday. Long live our FLOTUS!
Mrs. T, I think the twitter handle is fine especially now that her handle is @michelleobama, which I am following, YAY!! But if you really think you need to change it, may be you can add the ".com" at the end of it. Or ".org", I don't remember what it is and I have the site bookmarked so I don't have to type it in, LOL!!
@hello, I have a feeling he wrote it because it's not his first time mocking the nickname "FLOTUS". Now whether he typed it, doubt it!

turning 48 and still fabulous! i hope it's a great one for her, despite all the claws coming out this election year.
i don't use twitter, or follow anyone, so i can't really say what would work, but i understand the dilemma. i think something along the lines of @mrso-blog would work, but maybe not necessarily written like that. but definitely something to differentiate that this is a blog tweeting, not THE Michelle Obama tweeting. i like what someone else suggested about fashion or style being in the name as well.
