Summer Stripes

The president and first lady stopped by Nancy's Restaurant of Oak Bluffs yesterday for a bite of seafood. For the outing, Mrs. O paired cropped white pants with a striped top and pink cardigan. Her purple ToyWatch, first seen last year, here and here, added another dash of pastel color. All in all, a great, laid back summer look!

These are not public appearances. This is vacation, and I think Mrs. Obama looks appropraiate and like she is having fun. Pretty in pink and her new purple watch:)

I don't think the huffpost knows what they are talking about because I remember Mrs. O wearing that watch way back. And I remember because purple is my favorite color and I really wanted that watch. Now, the fact that Mr. O gave it to her is definitely new info.

This is lovely. Both the President and the First Lady are doing what no doubt they did for many years before they stepped into their public roles; they're on holiday and having fun. Every time I see a picture of the Obama family, it really makes my day.
Love Mrs Obama's emsemble and the watch is cute. I'm certain it''s the same one she wore in Paris last year.
P.S I could really do with some fried seafood right about now.
The "new" watch is purple, and the "old" watch worn in Paris looks like teal. I'm basing this on the photos in the Huff Post page at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/25/michelle-obama-marthas-vineyard-watch-barack_n_694458.html. So, I think she *does* have a new watch!

The First Lady looks the prettiest in pink. And the dash of lavender with the watch--whoever gave it to her and however long she has had it--is a delicious touch! (Now, if we could just get the President out of those okey-dokey pleated Dockers...)

Mrs. O looks so happy and so summery! She really seems happiest when she is with President Obama. God bless them both.
I saw some footage of our Michelle & POTUS from yesterday and she seemed just as giddy to see the people outside as they were to see her. Apparently the weather has been dreary and rainy for the most part, and everyone there is glad the sun was out. Truthfully, on some vacations that's OK by me. Get a chance to relax and be with friends, family, good book and/or a chance to sight see. However it can be dreadful on the hair. Anyway.......glad that they are enjoying themselves. If we did not know that they are famous, wouldn't they look like an average islander? Really laid back and casual!

Check out item # 230516581228. There are several US sellers with this watch on Ebay, but for the money and feedback score, this is the best one that I've found. Sorry folks, upon closer examination, this is not the same watch. These watches are named Toy Retro Watch by Plasteramics. Even though Plasteramics makes the watch that FLOTUS is wearing, that watch is called the "Fluo", not "Retro". This would explain the disparity in price. To some it may not make a difference, but to others it does. I just would hate to mislead someone in my quest to find a bargain! Once again, sorry about that!

This color looks terrific on Mrs. O -- and that smile is radiant ... I'm also happy to see her without all those ivory bracelets ... I think they're favorites of hers, but the watch is a neat change ... and Mr. O sure loves those Dockers, doesn't he !

I think the First lady is always on target with her attire but her hair is another topic of conservation. What is with the hair pulled back and the small hairbun that is totally a different color then her hair. It is time for the First Lady to have a hair makeover. I can understand a sleek ponytail and bangs to the side or just a nice hair style that compliments her. Enough with the hair pulled back at events not just on vacation. Any Hollywood hair stylist out there that can help the First Lady?
