The President and First Lady attended the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute dinner in Washington this evening. Mrs. O has wowed with her knock-out glamour, in a look that has all the makings of a classic. We love our first lady in sequins!

Update: Mrs. O's black sequin boat neck dress is Michael Kors!

Wow, what a lovely take on the little black dress. Check out our president checking her out:

And I like how dress hugs her womanly curves, then falls into a flow.

I am going to need a closeup on those bangles. FLOTUS is looking sophisticated and HOT!

this is ridiculously good. like....there are no words

Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:38 AM | Unregistered CommenterAll_abouteve

She is so not my mother's First Lady! And my mother would have loved her. Basic black never looked so good. The bangles are a great signature piece, but I really want to the lowdown on those earrings!

Also: check out all the photos on Getty. Jennifer Lopez looked stunning at the dinner. There are some lovely close ups showing her best "smokey eyes" ever. And at the Capital this afternoon, she rocked a dress I'm betting no one had ever seen in the halls of that institution. And Louboutins! Usually I'm looking at Pelosi's amazing pearls. Today it was all about JLo.

Fabulous!

I've been patiently waiting for a shimmery/sexy/sophisticated number. Michelle, you served.

OOOOOOOO MMMMMMM GGGGGGG !!!!!!! I have no more words. Then again...FABULOSO!!!! And the President shows such pride when he is with her. All husbands should be like that. Attentive and Proud.

THIS is our First Lady. H-O-T!! don't know which I love more...her jacked arms, or the casual way she wears this stunning outfit that is actually (gasp) SEXY! Don't need to be convinced BO is a smart guy, but choosing Michelle as his partner reinforces it!

Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 8:50 AM | Unregistered Commenterbex719

I love, love, love this dress on her. She is stunning!

Love the dress. Hits her in all the right places.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 9:31 AM | Unregistered Commenterlisa

In the Michelle Obama Style section on Huff Post there is a slideshow of the Jason Wu collection. With the exception of the "big (pink) bird" dress, I thought virtually everything looked like it was channeling FLOTUS. Some pieces would need a tweak or two (lining in the sheer tops, more modest neckline, that kind of thing), but it's almost funny how he's geared his look to her. And there are contrasting belts and cummerbunds all over the place.

It's also interesting to see how the clothes look on the models, and think about how they'd look on MO. Bottom line: they'd look much better on a real woman with a body that looks healthy.

I hope Jennifer Lopez keeps this hairdo. So much more flattering than her hair pulled back! What a glam night!

FLOTUS looks wonderful! This picture will make everyone smile! So in love! :) http://www.everyceleb.com/congressional-hispanic-caucus-institute-dinner/article-12496#topArticleKreditDiv

She looks amazing !!! Go Michelle go! We love you and so does the president.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:10 AM | Unregistered CommenterAma

This dress is definitely a keeper. It is the kind of dress that she can still wear when they leave the White House in 2017. It has a timelessness quality to it. It is perfect for her - like the dress for her official photo - sleeless, close to the body, solid color. The President is handsome as always. I agree with the earlier posting about "this is my lady" type pride.

Wow. Like.... WOW. That's just FABULOUS.

Has the first lady ever worn open toe shoes or strappy sandals? I'd like to see her wear some really sexy heels with jewels on them or something.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:38 AM | Unregistered CommenterTS

Love Michele's look, as always--but I can't help but notice that our POTUS is looking a little older and more weary.

Godspeed to both of them as they move our nation forward.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:49 AM | Unregistered CommenterInfoDiva

Mrs. T - did you notice the solicitation at 9/17 at 1:39 a.m.? Do you permit those on the site??

Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:44 PM | Unregistered Commenteroperafanatic

Thanks operafanatic - have taken it down.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 1:22 PM | Registered CommenterMrs. T

@ InfoDiva - yes I have noticed how older and weary he has been looking. It's a little sad to see this progression. But that is the price one must pay for their spot in moving our nation forward and to be part of history. He'll be fine because he has many prayers for him, and a family that sustains him.

Mrs. O looks sexy and confident in this dress. It's one of those dresses that the minute you put it on, get the hair, make-up, accessories, and heels going - you know it's knock out. I can only imagine how happy she was with this look.

Our First Lady is so expressive: http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/90888938

Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 5:14 PM | Registered CommenterIVA

Oooohhhhhh! That dress Mrs O wore to the medal of honors ceremony it is just too much. And the outfit from the farmer's market is so stylishly casual. After the HOT outfit last night, I think I may be swooning. Its fashion week in New York City, yet they all with their fancy catwalks and leggy models cannot command the attention that Mrs O attracts. Her clothes, accessories, hair and makeup are fabulous, but there is something more. She has a fresh, everyday, every woman something about her.

Just think in less than 24 hours she has gone from casual olympic fun to hot glam in celebrating our Latino brethren, to sophisticated solemn in honoring a fallen hero, to looking stylish picking up fresh veggies and supporting our farmers. From splashes of color to a sparkly take on basic black.

I am having so much fun following Mrs O, what and whom she is wearing.

Mrs.O has been knocking it out of the park lately

the dress from the medal of honor ceremony is just yowza!

and the farmer's market 's dress is so pretty.

Fun, fun, fun! That's all I can say about Mrs.O's outfit at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, the farmers market and the Medal of Honor ceremony. She looks so great in all of those photo's. At the farmers market it isn't so much what she's wearing but how cheery and lighthearted she looks. What other first lady do you know would wear a wreath of orange flowers around her neck to a farmers market without fear of criticism? She looks so cute and happy there. And the print of her Medal of Honor ceremony dress is so unique. I would say it's a floral print, but it looks like there's some sort of abstract art mixed into it somewhere. Love it!

Here's a photo from the Medal of Honor ceremony:

I went to the White House farmer's market today on my way home from work. It's wonderful! Such a great addition to the neighborhood. Looking forward to my "farm fresh" dinner tonight. FLOTUS looks fabulous in those pics, by the way!

You are so right Boazwife, Mrs Obama is so ravishing in the most realistic and unplastic of ways. I'm always excited to see her. Just something about her that is so captivating, interesting and very appealing and yet not at all shallow.

IVA & InfoDiva: The President does look very worn and tired. The perils of his office, I suppose. But he has already succeeded and will continue to succeed.

Awwww Mimi! Thank you so much! What a treat! How charming and beautiful!

Mimi, these photos are too cute for words! :)
Goodness, Sasha loves her daddy!
As for Mrs. O. I will echo the comments above: "isn't she lovely!"

Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 10:54 PM | Registered Commenterzile

@TS: she has worn open toe shoes and strappy sandals throughout the spring and summer. She has 2 pair of open toe, strappy kitten (or at least, low-ish) heels - I think by Jimmy Choo - in both black and a kind of dark silver. I also remember commenting on her brighly painted toenails at the ceremony in New York at the Met Museum - I'm not sure if she was in the Jimmys or something else that day. If you scroll back thru the home pages you will see she has a love affair with that look. The pumps she's been wearing the last couple of days I think represent a move into fall, post-Labor Day.

POTUS needs a new tailor. His pants never fall correctly. Makes him look sloppy.

Love that Michelle shows the world that it's ok to wear the same dress twice. Who if not her? See our rundown of her inauguration looks: http://visual-therapy.com/blog/inauguration-style-chic-perfection/
