Mrs. O at the Eiffel Tower

Photo by Miguel Medina /AFP/Getty Images

We love Mrs. O's Parisian-chic look. The first lady wears soft green vest and shirt, paired with a floral scarf as she and the O entourage tour the Eiffel Tour in Paris.

Update: We've learned that Mrs. O is wearing  a Prova scarf and Rick Owens Lilies vest and shirt. Click here to see the pieces in greater detail. Of note, Rick Owens in an American-born designer, who resides in Paris.

For shoes, the first lady is once again wearing her snazzy Lanvin sneakers. For a full-length look at this fabulous ensemble, shoes included, click here.

Continue reading after the jump for a detailed image of a similar style of Prova scarf. The line is carried at Ikram in Chicago. Such excitement!

I like Michelle’s hair. She’s got it pulled back in a pony tail but it’s a bit higher on her head and there’s a little height to it (does that make sense?) I think it looks great on her! Very youthful. And her mom looks fantastic for her age!!

Fabulous! Love the colors. Love Michelle's scarf and hair and simple makeup (notice her makeup artist behind her). And like I said in the previous thread, Malia and Sasha are just too cute and look like little child stars! What a beautiful First Family!

Even TBG is casual!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:16 PM | Unregistered CommenterChristina

The girls are just beautiful. Malia is almost as tall as her mother.

Love the scarf and sweater. The girls look so excited and their outfits are really cute.. Mrs. R. looks great too! This is going to be an exciting trip for all of of Mrs. O. style devotees.

They are both such adorable girls! It's darn hard to believe Malia isn't even a teenager yet.....the best part,
Sasha rocking the fake ponytail for all it's worth, that child is going to grow up to be on the stage, LOL

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:32 PM | Unregistered Commentertinat

In the photos:
Michelle, Malia, Sasha, Michelle’s mom, Michelle’s brother Craig, and Craig’s daughter from his first marriage is standing next to Michelle’s mom. And I am not positive but I think that is Craig's wife next to Craig, I'll have to go back and look at the inauguration photos.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:37 PM | Unregistered CommenterLeah D

neither Craig Robinson nor his wife are pictured here...but you can see their daughter in the back....

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:40 PM | Unregistered Commenteramy

Hmmmm... wow - that looks like Craig to me.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:44 PM | Unregistered CommenterLeah D

thats not a fake ponytail its up and down with curls

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:44 PM | Unregistered Commentersierra

@ Leah D
I don't think Michelle's brother is in that photo, the black guy is a secret service agent. However, Craig's daughter is indeed in the photo.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:46 PM | Unregistered Commenterdpg

no, I think that's a bodyguard

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:47 PM | Unregistered Commenteramy

Craig is not here. But his daughter is

Tinat That's not a fake ponitail, Sasha's hair is very long. That is her hair curled

MRS O looks great, definitely adopted the french style with the scarf. Love it!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:50 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

Mrs. O looks so fresh and beautiful in this picture. I think these types of ponytails are in style now.. It is a very attractive look on her.

The girls really do look excited. I remember the first time I traveled to Paris, it is one of those cities where if you know someone that can really take you around and take care of you, it is a thoroughly enjoyable city. This will probably be one of many memorable trips the family takes.

I'm a little sad because I'm sure Mr. O still has so much work to do to prepare for the events for the commemoration, and he needs to keep up with domestic events, and security for him is so much more of a nightmare than for his "girls," so he can't possibly do all of these little touristy things with the fam.

Anyway, love the colors of the ladies' outfits, and can't wait to see Mrs. O tomorrow for the commemoration ceremony!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:52 PM | Unregistered CommenterIVA

The two men in the dark suits with the pens on their lapels look like secret servicemen.

Michelle and family look so relaxed; I hope that they get to be tourists and have fun celebrating Sasha's birthday without all of the parparazzi.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:53 PM | Unregistered CommenterSybil

No, that is not Craig, that is the Secret Service men! I love Mrs. O face with light make up. I think her make up artist, always tend to put too much at night functions. Mrs. O is beautiful without all that, for her husband too love her face natural.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 5:53 PM | Unregistered Commenterpat

Yep, it is NOT Craig. There is another photo on HuffPo and you can see his ear piece in that one.
My bad!

Also, Michelle's 13-year-old niece's name is Leslie

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:00 PM | Unregistered CommenterLeah D

Tinat, here is a pic with the girls. You can see their hair is very long probably from their caucasian gene. They sure do not need fake ponitails

Craig Robinson is even taller then his sister, can't be him.
Love the cardigan!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:06 PM | Unregistered CommenterJulie

Mrs. O looks chic and very relaxed...like a regular mom. The draping of the scarf was right on point. I feel for the President not usually being able to join his family in outings like this, but I'm sure they're planning private moments for he and the family for the next few days.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:10 PM | Unregistered CommenterJanelle

You look wonderful and it is wonderful to do these activities with the children as much as you can fit into your schedule! In fact they should be your number one priority!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:12 PM | Unregistered CommenterRoseParvin

I love the colors of Mrs. O's scarf and cardigan. I'm not too keen on the hairstyle, but it's ok. On a side note, someone commented that Sasha is wearing a hairpiece. If youknow anything about Mrs. O, you would know that will never happen on her watch.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:15 PM | Unregistered CommenterStrong

Mimi:I know you probably meant no harm with your comment but the girls do not need a "caucasian gene" to grow their hair to that lenght.I'm black and have hair down my back because I take good care of it.

On topic I love Michelle's hair!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:23 PM | Unregistered CommenterCarmen

May God bless this wonderful family and keep them safe. I love them so!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:23 PM | Unregistered Commenterthe other jenna

Carmen, after I wrote that comment and read it, I knew it came out very wrong. Some people natuarally have long hair. I mispoke badly and misinterpreted my thoughts. I apologize if anybody was offended. Sorry!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:30 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

we're all mutts. President Obama will be the first one to own up to that.

In this photo http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/88237020/AFP, you can see Sasha's ponytail. It's clearly her own hair. Furthermore, I don't think Michelle would put extensions in the girls hair.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:31 PM | Unregistered Commentermarabout40

Naturally I meant

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:33 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

Most American black people have a "Caucasian gene." It's just that theirs is a little closer to them in the family tree.

I take good care of my hair and it could never grow down my back on its own! (it is growing that way now because I have it in locs, but normally it would just be a little afro) Healthy hair is beautiful hair, no matter what the length.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:33 PM | Unregistered CommenterChristina

What an interesting scarf, now that I see it close up -- I don't think Mrs O's has the fringe, though, does it?

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:34 PM | Unregistered CommenterChristina

Mimi I read your posts all the time and you are always respectful, thats why I said you probably didn't mean any harm.I just wanted it to be said that you don't have to be biracial to have long hair because they're some people that belive that.So yeah no offense taken!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:35 PM | Unregistered CommenterCarmen

@Christina

Having European blood DOES NOT determaine hair length!! I have seen Michelle with her hair down her back when she was pregnant whith Sasha.

@Carmen

I agreee having white blood does not determine hair length. And yes that is all their hair, Michelle just takes good care of it. Just like she does hers, I read an article last year that said she DOES NOT PERM HER hair, nor the girls. Just flat iron and a blow dry because its healthier.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:38 PM | Unregistered CommenterBella

To Leah D, The girls have long hair and it has noting to do with there caucasian gene. Black people can have long hair also. Michelle's hair was long as child. Come on now.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:40 PM | Unregistered CommenterB

Love the sweater/jacket and the scarf is just the right touch. I hope they have a wonderful time in Paris.

Did anyone ever say anything about the event MrsO attended last night in DC? I only heard a snippet on the Gayle King show (evidently she was going to be there as Oprah was being honored) but am dying to hear more!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:43 PM | Unregistered CommenterBrook

Sorry the Leah D comment was for Mimi

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:43 PM | Unregistered Commenterb

If black women want long hair, just take care of it that is all you have to do!! I have ALWAYS had long hair, and I don't have a white granny like Malia and Sasha's. I just washed it every 2 weeks, and used natural hair products, and no chemicals.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:43 PM | Unregistered CommenterBella

STOP! NO MORE DISCUSSION ABOUT CAUCASIAN GENE. LET US STAY ON TOPIC.

Yes I am shouting...

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:44 PM | Unregistered Commenterthe other jenna

I agree with other jenna even though I kind of started it.Like I said I just wanted to debunk the idea that blacks can't have long hair.Mimi though apologized so this topic should be laid to rest.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:49 PM | Unregistered CommenterCarmen

like paris didnt love it :)) but love the idea of being in paris. it really does bring something out in ya.. and i must say ms sasha is rocking that ponytail well... how fabulous... simple chic they are and i love it.. enjoy

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:52 PM | Unregistered CommenterMrs M

I think I already said I mispoke...I hope I won't have to keep apologizing...it'll kill the excitement we all feeling about Mrs O being in Paris. I just got tangled up with my own words by trying to defend sasha's hairstyle which does not a hairpiece.

Carmen Thanks for being so understanding.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:53 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

does not include a hairpiece I meant....Geezzzzzzz something is wrong with me today (probably the nasty weather in NYC)..

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:56 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

Imagine those little girls and their cousin RUNNING up the Eiffel Tower!

Rick Owens, American based in Paris, is a pretty far-out designer. I didn't know he made anything in colors other than black or neutral!

I often wear Indian print cotton scarves (most bought online from Anokhi -- a great and inexpensive source) They also look beautiful hanging in a group on the clothesline or used as runners on tabletops!

Mrs. Robinson makes me want to take up yoga again. She's so fabulous, too!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:59 PM | Unregistered Commenterdesertwind

Mrs. O, her daughters and her mother look absolutely lovely, and excited to be in Paris. I'm going to love the vicarious experience. I like the bright colors the girls are wearing, and the more muted and very chic colors on Mrs. O. Love the scarf.

It is so hard to remember that Malia is only 10! She is so tall and looking so much like a young lady. But 10 is still a child!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 7:01 PM | Unregistered CommenterWillow

Who is this person talking bout our First daughter wears fake ponytail.....I thinks you need to go back in your troll cave lady. Gurl bye,NEXT!!!!!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 7:04 PM | Unregistered Commentertoi22

love the way michelle have her scarf...(it's definitely how we are doing it here) Love the colors too and the jacket. Wish I didn't have to work this afternoon( and I could see the eiffel tower from the window in my office)...

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 7:07 PM | Unregistered CommenterV.France

PS love the scarf without the fringes. Bravo Michelle !!!

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 7:12 PM | Unregistered CommenterV.France

Rick Owens?! So cool. He embodies a strange mix of Parisian sexy with a goth sensibility. He's also a master at draping jersey materials. Very nice. I wish I owned that jacket.

Friday, June 5, 2009 at 7:14 PM | Unregistered CommenterAri

The lady in glasses behind Michelle is her makeup artist, Ingrid Grimes-Myles. There are a couple of videos online of her. (one for ET comes up on Google search, but there was also a WashingtonPost video a few weeks ago.)
