Pretty in Pink

Photos by Karen Bleier / Getty Images

This morning, First Lady Mrs. O and Dr. B appeared at a Joining Forces event in Washington, D.C. The ladies were on site at the home of Sergeant Johnny Agbi to mark the 1,000th home that Sears Holdings and Rebuilding Together have refitted for our wounded warriors through the Heroes at Home Project.

Both Mrs. O and Dr. B gave remarks, and also rolled up their sleeves, helping to repaint the interior of Sergeant Agbi's home. Style wise, casual chic was the look du jour. Mrs. O paired jeans with a pink striped oxford shirt, while Dr. B opted for jeans and an Army t-shirt.

@Mrs. T, with all the excitement of the state dinner, I forgot to alert you to this, which I initially saw on Obama Diary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNdJDWp1DUo&feature=player_embedded The FLOTUS is wearing a nifty multicolored top. Have we seen this before?

beautiful in pink...great color for her. I have never witnessed a more involved and 'out there gettin' it done" first lady in my lifetime. I love it!

Lovely, homey outfits perfect for this community service project. You can imagine both of them sitting with their respective hubbies for some wine, scrabble and cuddly time in these outfits.

Both ladies look cute and comfortable.

I enjoy seeing FLOTUS & SLOTUS working together. They seem to enjoy and respect one another. The work that they are doing in behalf of military families is unparalleled. It's truly remarkable to see.
I don't know what our Michelle is doing, but she's looking younger and younger these days. This pink oxford shirt brightens up her face. Great color!

Whatever Mrs. O did, it's working! when I compare this pic above to the video in the previous post, she looks 10 years younger! Love the wavy hair. That is just how I like my hair. I have thick hair and to achieve the same look, when my stylist takes out the rollers, she just blowdries the roots and this is the effect you get! Using a brush comb also helps.

Mrs. O really knows how to do casual chic! I thought she was wearing a solid pink blouse until I saw a close up over at theobamadiary.com web-site. My almost 60 year old eyes couldn't tell it was striped until I saw it. You can really see how lovely her hairstyle is too. Please click here to see that close up shot.

love the shirt on the First Lady. pink looks great on her skin tone and it's my fave color. her hair looks lovely as well. i like her shoes, but perhaps not this color with this outfit. looks like a pair of blue shoes that her daughter Malia wore for their trip to Africa over the summer.

With all the good work Mrs O is doing here, I feel a little trivial asking about her shoes, but I love the color. Does anyone have any info on her shoes?

African American women always look extremely good in pale pink. I'm jealous of that. I'm an Asian American. Mrs. O looks angelic to me. I think she should wear it more often.
