Mrs. O celebrated the year anniversary of the inauguration today, greeting White House visitors with a surprise visit. First dog Bo joined as well! Mrs. O wore a metallic knit coat paired with black boots for the appearance.

Celebrating MLK Day

This evening the first lady attended the Let Freedom Ring concert at the Kennedy Center to celebrate Martin Luther King Day. Though we can't see the full ensemble, Mrs. O appears to be wearing an embellished black top (or dress) and has debuted a new tousled curl version of her short haircut. Gorgeous!

Update: The First Lady wore an embellished Moschino shift dress from the Moschino Pre-Fall 2009/2010 collection.

Dressed for a Super Chef Battle

Image via Food Network

We're excited to see First Lady Mrs. O this evening, as she makes a cameo appearance on Super Chef Battle (an Iron Chef America event). The episode airs tonight, Sunday, January 3 at 8PM EST on the Food Network. For a video preview, click here.

Per the Washington Post, Mrs. O will reveal the secret ingredient in the competition, which can be anything from the White House kitchen garden. White House executive chef, Chris Comerford, is participating in the challenge.

For the appearance, taped earlier this fall, Mrs. O dressed in a bold mix of colors, wearing an orange Liz Claiborne dress, topped by a aquamarine Moschino cropped cardigan, and a Hattie Carnegie flower pin from the Carole Tanenbaum Vintage Collection. Coordinating aquamarine pumps completed the look.

Fabulous Frock

Image by Susan Walsh / AP Images

First Lady Mrs. O debuted a new knee-length sheath dress to attend the presentation of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award at the White House this evening. Wide panels of coordinating grey fabric run diagonally across the length of the dress and bodice, meeting at the right shoulder, under a coordinating flower-like adornment. The dress features a coordinating belt in a tonal grey-purple, which sits at the natural waistline. Silver pumps and a polished updo complete the look - one of our favorties of recent months. And sadly, we can't find a photo worthy of how fabulous Mrs. O looks in this ensemble (at least not from AP or Reuters)! For now, you can have a peek here.

Perhaps this look signals exciting things to come for tomorrow night?

Update #1: Mrs. O wear a grey sheath dress, from the Moschino Pre-Spring 2010 collection.

Update #2: We were able to secure an image. Hooray!

Colorado Chic

Image by John Moore / Getty Images

First Lady Mrs. O was in Denver, Colorado today to meet with high school students, as part of the ongoing White House leadership and mentoring initiative.

We know Mrs. O's penchant for belts has many regular readers of this blog divided. But like the trend or not, Mrs. O is most certainly having a belt moment (perhaps complemented by an updo moment too). For today's appearance, Mrs. O paired an argyle cardigan with black trousers, cinched at the waist by a neutral leather belt. A stack of beaded bracelets completed the look.

Update #1: Thanks to those who have pointed out that earlier in the day, Mrs. O paired her argyle cardigan with a coordinating skirt. See more at the Huffington Post.

Update #2: Mrs. O wears a cardigan from Moschino's Fall/Winter 2010 collection.
