Shamrock Green

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, the President and First Lady hosted Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny and his wife Fionnuala O'Kelly for a reception at the White House. For the occasion, Mrs. O chose an apropos green sheath dress paired with a single strand of pearls.

Green is the color of the season. She has worn this green dress a few years ago.

I'm not wild about the necklace with the neckline of the dress (that's a difficult neckline to accessorize). But Mrs. O's smile is her best accessory anyway. And the color of the dress is lovely.

I believe this is the third consecutive St. Patrick's Day visit for the PM and his wife. It always looks as though the two ladies are having a great time together!

I like the neckline and the ribbing (?) is flattering. I would wear this dress in this color.

Mrs o finally looks like a first lady in her classic elegant dress and pearls. So much more appropriate than her usual trendy style which isn't becoming on a mature woman.

@Jes,
You poor thing! Still stuck in the 19th century and still very much trapped in and hampered by your terribly antiquated perspective of "style" and "appropriateness".
Thankfully Mrs Obama isn't and will not be taking her cues about anything from you any time soon.
