Remembering 9/11

The president and first lady marked the 11th anniversary of 9/11 with a moment of silence at the White House today, followed by visits to the Pentagon Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. Throughout the day, Mrs. O wore a custom Peter Som ensemble from Fall 2010.

I always love the FLOTUS in this outfit. She knows just when to wear it.

Lovely! The purple is a nice color for today, a sad day for America.
We all honor the Americans who lost their lives on 9/11.

These jeweled shades...especially purple really do look great on her; however, I wish the length of the coat was a little bit longer...cant put my finger on why but...

Color is lovely and appropriate, length is good, but I bet "$10K" that people are going to grump about the sleeve length. It's sort of a lot of sleeve for MO, but I can see some folks thinking it's a little informal or too-young (as I sit here with 65 fast approaching, so maybe I'm just getting old, 8-)).

I actually love the color and the sleeve length. Quite appropriate for a day that was just lovely weather wise.. I am in NJ and it was a cool lovely day fall-like day despite being still summer. Great color without being black.

Charming, appropriately muted without being somber or severe, and well-cut.

I've always loved this one and it's so suitable for this somber occasion.
