These big trips are so fun for those of us watching Mrs. O's style. This dress isn't one of my favorites but the bright colors seem festive and perfect for the occasion. Wish we could see the top a little better but I am sure Air Force One gets chilly, just like all planes! Are those bracelets silver or clear Lucite or what?

oK, not the most flattering look, but I have to admit I totally dislike horizontal lines.

I like! I especially like the length with the flats. Also, the low maintenance hairstyle really highlights Mrs. O's features and is working well for her on this trip.

This is certainly a trip of fashion! I LOVE IT! Everything she (along with Malia and Sasha) has worn this trip has been beautiful and some of my favorite outfits ever!!!!

This Sunday, my family and I will be traveling to South America. Mrs. O has honestly given me new inspiration for what I should wear and to feel comfortable in whatever I wear. Even if I am a thirty-somethin' mom wearing a dress and even a swimsuit!

It seems that Marc by Marc Jacobs is becoming a favorite of our Michelle. You can see the skirt and top on Bergdorfs website. This is such a lovely breezy dress that looks great on FLOTUS. The entire family has worn lots of colors during this visit of Latin America. This has been a fashion feast!

Probably the first outfit this week that I haven't gone crazy over, but I love to see Mrs. O back in full on bright color mode. Any bright color, from yellow to electric blue to hot pink, she can pull off.

I love that dress. I was just looking at it in the new issue of Self Magazine. I would kill to have it. It's colorful and flirty, not too revealing. I think it flatters her, too many women fear strips.

OMG !!! This dress is divine and so appropriate for her trip. Colourful and spring like. I truly love this.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/20/michelle-obama-brazil-photos_n_837997.html#255487 Look at Sasha.....can this be the same little girl that came onto the nation's radar back in 2008? She exudes confidence and style already at such a young age. This little one is going to go places!

I have to say I think that this is the best fashion trip she's ever had. Better than their trip to the UK. Better than India. It's been all hits and no misses this entire trip.

Mrs. O looks amazing and I love how the President is wearing a coordinating striped tie.

What about that PURSE????

I like this dress for the tropical trip. It would come in handy in Hawaii, Mexico, etc. Fun colors
and a bright summer look.

Not many people have enough style and confidence to flow so flawlessly in any outfit with stripes. Most people who wear stripes usually have a mannequin appearance, but this look is soft, bold and fabulous!.

Monday, March 21, 2011 at 6:49 PM | Unregistered CommenterLaVonne

Like the cut, but way too many colors going on and not a fan of horizontal stripes. Not feeling it.

Mrs. T, about your title: is that the Portugese equivalent of "ciao"?

Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10:35 PM | Unregistered Commentera MI Mom

So I looked at the Saks model in this dress and I must say it looks so much better on a real woman. I love this look on FLOTUS.

Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10:43 PM | Unregistered CommenterJulie Talbert

Love the dress, particularly the fabrication, however, you all know me.....I am not feeling the flats. In my opinion, when Mrs. O wears flats, particularly with a longer length skirt, they make her legs look fat. In turn, the entire look loses its' "pop" and has a tendency to make her look somewhat dowdy.

Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:31 PM | Unregistered CommenterThe Cincinnati Kid

Not a big fan of this dress, though Mrs. Obama's height and accessorizing allows her to wear it as well as it can be worn. For some reason the colors (block-y and primary) remind me of the (old school) game, Twister. LOL!

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 3:32 AM | Unregistered CommenterMarcus Perry

@MI Mom, yes, exactly! Well, according to my google search at least. I found a few sources, so fingers crossed, it's correct.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 8:20 AM | Registered CommenterMrs. T

@Mrs. T, how funny! I'm not aware of a French or Spanish word like that, so there must be some Italian influence in Brazil.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 12:08 PM | Unregistered Commentera MI Mom

The dress is completely sold out over here in England - completely. I've spoken to a few high end stores in London and they have told me that since the First Lady wore it yesterday, they have had orders pouring in from all over the world, from as far as the Middle East & China. I love the dress although there are mixed opinions, either way, Mrs Obama has star quality.

This is SO interesting. When I was in NYC early this month, I saw this dress in a store and noticed that the collection name is "Rio". Perfect dress for a perfect city: Rio de Janeiro!

@a MI Mom

Portuguese is a combination of ITALIAN and Spanish. :) A wild combination.

You may see the variations of the word CIAO here on this link

@spqr1052, thanks for the interesting link. My grandparents came from the northeastern part of Italy, so I grew up hearing "ciao" for hello and goodbye. I did not realize that it had become that international, rather like our "OK."
