Happy Birthday Mrs. O

Image by Jewel Samad / Getty Images

Happy Birthday to Mrs. O on her 47th birthday! The First Lady will mark her birthday by participating in a service project to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Stuart Hobson Middle School today (seen above). Yesterday, the First Family attended morning services at Metropolitan AME church, where parishoners sang "Happy Birthday" to the First Lady.

Update: The President, First Lady and close friends dined at Wolfgang Puck's the Source restaurant for Mrs. O's birthday on Monday night. To read more, click here.

Her dress was said to have been sleeveless. They dined alone upstairs with shades closed.

Belated happy birthday. I hope that you are still celebrating.

P. S. I love the scarf and sweater on Malia. She is developing a great sense of style.

The Obama girls, all three, are gorgeous.

So, slightly impertinent question, but can anyone tell me what the usual age is for young women to first get their eyebrows done. For me, it was before 9th grade, and that may have been late. It changed the way I looked though.

I'm just wondering b/c the girls are obviously too young to wear makeup now and they don't need to anyway, but I wonder at what age Michelle will let Malia get her eyebrow done for the first time.

This appears to be the same shirt style and pants from a recent Camp David trip. She looks very youthful in this picture. Comfortable in her own skin. What beatiful skin, she doesn't need all the makeup. Innocent looking, very cute look for her in the blues and a headband.

Thanks Mincey for the lovely pictures of the Obamas at church. Picture #18 gives a fuzzy view of Mrs. O's brown coat. I would love to see a close up of that outfit (with her signature bow) I bet it is stunning.

I'll tell you this. If her birthday dinner look was any indication of the direction she is headed for the State Dinner, we are in for some serious fireworks.

Oh my goodness, Mrs. O looks FABULOUS!! Black dress and coat but the dress has some serious bling. It's difficult to see the embellishment so I can't wait to see some photos. Really beautiful, stunning ensemble and RED gloves really make a very gorgeous statement. Mrs. O is at the TOP of her game!!
