I can't argue with you on that. We are GOOD. And yes, Adios to Chuck, although I got a kick out of him.

Karina was crying. I guess that was too close for comfort for her. Maybe Aaron will come back with a vengence next week.

Until next week...

First off, I don't have a poor guy award this week.

Everybody seemed to do fairly well this week. Mya was great as usual. Donny was great, but I really didn't feel the heat like everyone else. Maybe that is just my bias towards him, but I still thouhgt it was a great dance. I also thought Aaron and Karina were great. I have come to the conclusion that I cannot look at Aaron's face. If I look just at his body, he looks good. The way he holds his face just seems to give me an awkard feeling.

Without the misstep, Joanna and Maks did good.
Michael and his partner was good as well as Lacey and Mark.

You know I have a special place in my heart for Louie, so I was happy to see him do better this week. Am I the only one that loves when the star and the pro are single and they start to like each other? And I especially find Louie and Chelsea's romance cute.

I don't know what's up with Natalie. Something has not been clicking these last two weeks, but I am sure she will fix it.

Loved the hustle. I am a little iffy on who is going home this week. Who do you think it will be?

Monday, October 19, 2009 at 10:28 PM | Registered CommenterNyon

Well, I can't find much disagreement with your assessment. Michael's best dance thus far. Donny's too. Kelly wasn't intense, I agreed with Bruno (or was that Len?). Natalie is DRY. I think she's a nice woman, great body for dancing, has the desire to win and learn - but where's her personality? I think she's not connecting with us.

I'm not sure if Louie and Chelsie have a romance going, but Louie is definitely liking Chelsie. I hope they do hook up because they're cute together, with their tiny bodies.

Joanna and Maks were good in the beginning. Who slipped up, Maks or Joanna? At first I thought it was Maks, then Joanna said she stepped wrong, then Maks said his shoes weren't broken in. Anyway, they didn't have much time to get used to each other, so I bet that had something to do with it.

Mya and Donny were the best tonight. Melissa was sloppy - not her best dance IMO.

If I have to pick someone to go home - Michael should, but he seems to have a good sized voting fan base. I think bottom 2 will be Aaron and Natalie. I think Aaron is turning people off - he's turning me off even though he did very good tonight.

The hustle was a mess. I feel like every solo had a stumble or a near drop.

Monday, October 19, 2009 at 10:35 PM | Registered CommenterIVA

I have no clue who tripped up. the way I think it goes is Joanna made a wrong step, which caused Maks to trip and almost fall on her.

Melissa's dance was too hard for me. It seemed like she should have been doing the Paso instead.

I think Chelsea likes him too, Louie just may be a little more out with his. But your right, they are the perfect size for each other.

Ok, I will leave the predictions up to you this week. They sound right on point to me.

Monday, October 19, 2009 at 10:45 PM | Registered CommenterNyon

I wasn't expecting that one.

Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 10:14 PM | Registered CommenterNyon

I wasn't either. And from the tears and the look on her face - she wasn't either. Aaron's days are numbered though with being in the bottom two for these 2 weeks straight.

Hi IVA,

None of the dances were just stand out for me. Actually, I take that back. I liked the mambo at the end where everyone danced at the same time. I thought Kelly and her partner should have been tapped out way ealier than they were. And Derric and Joanna definitely were the right ones to win because Derric was pushing her to the max.

I will say that Mya better up her personality because while she is the best dancer, Donny has the more upbeat attitude and I think that may win him the trophy.

Melissa gotta go. Unless she can do some Sabrina the Teenage Witch magic trick, its pretty much over for her. Now, I think Michael, Aaron, and Louie all better prepare for the dance off tommorrow.

Hi Nyon!

I missed the show last night, but I am going to watch it online before the results tonight. I've been concerned about Mya's lack of personality. I feel like even in her interviews and what not, she's kind of blah...very monotone and eerily even. For a musician, she doesn't emote very well.

Anyway I look forward to catching up on yesterday's show so I can contribute a proper 2 cents worth. :-)

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 3:18 PM | Registered CommenterIVA

Hope you got to see the show tonight. I really was not all that into it because I was watching the Hip Hop awards. However, I did see who got kicked off. I told you it was over for Melissa.

And you know I am hurting right now. My lil dude got the boot. But, I knew it would come sooner rather than later ;-( It was cute while it lasted.

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 10:31 PM | Registered CommenterNyon

Well it certainly was Louie's time to go, and next week it should be Michael. They're doing double eliminations, though. I'm torn at who should leave with him. Most of the people that are left have never been in bottom 2, right? I suppose Kelly? I love her attitude, but she's flat-lining after her first strong performance.

Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 4:03 PM | Registered CommenterIVA

I can't recall if it is double eliminations, but Michael deserves to go home now, as does Mark...but with Lacey being out sick, he may get sympathy votes. Mya is definitely at risk. Len does not like her and her personality (or lack thereof) is just not grabbing people. I still like her dancing the best and would like to see her in the finals so that she can do a freestyle.

I'm not feeling Joanna like everyone else is...she's just kind of bimbo-ie to me and although I'm a big Derek fan he's kind of annoying me lately. Kelly is a sentimental fave, so I think she'll be safe even though dancingwise, she's on par with Mark. Aaron is still a little too hyper for my tastes and not masculine enough when he dances.

Monday, November 2, 2009 at 9:52 PM | Registered CommenterIVA

Yep, its double eliminations.

Yes, it is time for Michael to go, eventhough I thought this was one of his best dance weeks, but compared to everyone else, he is not up to par.

So I am thinking that Kelly, Mark, and Aaron may be at risk of being in the dance off tommorrow.

I thought Aaron danced well tonight, but it is just something not right. Maybe it is that he is not that masculine, which I find hard to believe because he use to have this rappin cool white boy swagga thing going on.

It's true, Len is definitely not feeling Mya. Maybe he thinks that she thinks she is so good. IDK, I don't get that feeling from her. I think she is just nonchalant, which I get because I am that way as well. But that attitude might bite her in the ass in the end. Yea I wanna see her freestyle as well.

JoAnna does have that ditzy blonde thing going on and I don't know if that is her or just her "putting on a show".

Monday, November 2, 2009 at 10:22 PM | Registered CommenterNyon

Aaron's lack of masculinity is just messing up his performances. And when he's got a Latin dance, he's too wild. I thought the quickstep was messy, although full of energy, which is good.

I think Mya is not only nonchalant, I think she may be shy and Len's coldness may be getting into her head and causing her to be nervous since I don't think she really knows what she's doing wrong. He says he doesn't like "gimmicks" then we see Kelly ripping off the "shimmy pants" on Louis, and he eats it up. I mean the Muppets came out and danced with Aaron once and I don't recall him complaining.

I've suspected that perhaps he knows she's really good and he needs something to criticize lest they give her 9s and 10s every week full of praise. So, it's too much razzle dazzle showmanship. I think, smartly, Dmitri realizes that the viewers like some razzle dazzle, so he should keep doing what he's doing and making the choreography interesting. If he does a pure dance, and she nails it - people will say it was too easy for her.

Every season it seems like judges have their favorite, and this season is Joanna and to a lesser extent Kelly.

The tango was much better than the paso, and I feel like they stacked the tango team. Derek and Louis on one team - they are known for great choreography. I think it was a little rude of Joanna to declare she only wants her teammates from the tango if they have to do another group dance. Kind of insensitive to the other team members. Whatevs.

Monday, November 2, 2009 at 10:43 PM | Registered CommenterIVA

The tango was definitely better than the paso. Yea, I heard her say that and I was like, OK thats a nice thing to say in front of the other team ;-(

And did you hear Aaron when he was like "the true captains of the team were Karina and Dmitri", I mean what was he trying to say. Michael did pull their team together, which counts for alot, IMO.

I was thinking of you Ladies last night when I watched in between the World Series.

It felt as if Len was overly critical of Mya, although she does come off lacking in personality. But I agree with you, IVA, she seems shy and not at ease socially. Kelly was overpraised, and I wonder if the judges are doing that to keep the drama balanced. She is clearly a crowd favorite.

Mark does have to go, and Joanna makes me crazy - although her dancing is sexy, she has a prigginess to her that puts me off. I completely missed the Paso, but thought the Tango was pretty well choreographed.

I'll have to tape it tonight, b/c I simply can't miss our POTUS on HBO!

Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 8:18 AM | Registered CommenterBevi

I definitely will not be missing the documentary tonight, so I will either peak in or check online to see who got the boot.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 12:24 PM | Registered CommenterNyon

That makes three of us regarding the documentary. Results shows are usually overly drawn out anyway.

@ Bevi - I agree with you about overpraise of Kelly. She's a swan story, so I'm sure that's part of it. Joanna has got to go because her sex pot routine is wearing thin. Next time she dances - LOOK AT HER FEET. They are a mess.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 2:29 PM | Registered CommenterIVA

IVA -

YOU are killing me - I am dying.

But, I just don't think she is really sexy....she is very pretty, and has an elegance, but not sexy.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 5:21 PM | Registered CommenterBevi

I don't know if you guys found out, but Michael and Mark were eliminated last night.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 5:07 PM | Registered CommenterNyon

I did not know that - but Mark is no surprise.

Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 7:59 AM | Registered CommenterBevi

I had a feeling it was OV for Aaron. He wasn't my fave, but he definitely was better than Kelly, IMO.

Oh, and I think Mya will make it to the finals but she is not going to win because they predicted it tonight. They jinxed her with that.

Loved seeing Sabrina and Mark back together and I think I have a little crush on Michale Buble' ;-)

Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 10:10 PM | Registered CommenterNyon

I knew Kelly was going to take that third spot, but I just didn't know which of them would be ousted because of it. I held my breath and was happy to see that Mya made it through.

At the beginning I was worried about Donny and that his fans and his big ol family might swoop in there and out vote Mya fans, but I think both Mya and Donny should worry about Kelly because she has that underdog quality and you know how we all love to see the underdog win.

I think it will be a fun show next week.

Until then...

Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:14 PM | Registered CommenterNyon

I agree with your assessment. I think Kelly has the fanbase to watch. Mya's scores have been very high, so I think that gives her a nice cushion. I hope she can keep up the high standard for one more night.

I hope it's between Donny and Mya. I think Kelly's transformation has been wonderful, but she's not that good. Donny messed up with the tango, but came back pretty strong. Plus, I would like Kym to pull it off for once.

In the end, Mya should win for straight up best dancing. Her salsa was THE BEST I've seen on this show ever. But this show is about personalities, story line, as much as it is about dancing, so I'm nervous for her because she hasn't given much in the way of her personality or a good story to latch on to.

I'm glad poor footwork and posture Joanna is gone. Her pouty exit was icing on the cake for me. LOL.

Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 2:24 PM | Registered CommenterIVA

I agree IVA - that pout was uncalled for, but we were not surprised, right?!

I'd love you all to watch Project Runway this week. It's the final show.

OT: To Sharon Nelson

Just wanted to reply to your comments in the "President Obama" thread here, since I really don't plan on visiting that thread while the current line of "discussion" is happening.

I think your comments were spot on. I want to clarify that I haven't given up on the president or his administration...I have given up on Willow. As you wrote, it is clear that she does not read any of our comments, she only drops her links and leaves, making a broad reference to the topic we discussed in our comments. I never got an answer to the questions I asked her many weeks ago. Instead, she shows up to add to the chorus of "dump Geithner" calls - which as you so nicely pointed out is something the far left and the right share...that seems to tell you where we are. I wouldn't be surprised to learn she also found bowgate troubling...

And Nyon, you can always find me in here if you want to talk a little politics in an honest way, without an overwhelming ideological bent. I'm your standard practical progressive, so maybe that's why I don't care for Willow's style or politics.
